Description of Benefast VTEC Solenoid Spool Valve: Timing Oil Pressure Switch & Gasket 🔧 – Honda Accord CR-V Element Civic Acura RSX Acura TSX – Replacement# 15810-RAA-A01 15810-RAA-A03

The VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system increases the amount of intake valve lift for increased power. It accomplishes this by turning a control solenoid 'ON' to allow oil pressure into the VTEC control passages to apply pins that will lock the intake rockers. When the oil pressure is present, the pressure switch signal will go high. When the control solenoid is turned 'OFF', the oil pressure is dumped and the oil pressure switch signal will go low. If the pressure switch signal is not logical for the commanded state of the control solenoid, a DTC will set and the PCM will go into a 'fuel-cut' mode limiting engine rpm and performance. The PCM simply doesn't 'know' what the state of the intake valves are, so you end up with the symptoms you describe. This VTEC Solenoid Fits for the Following Vehicles: Honda Accord 2003-2007, Honda Civic 2002-2005, Honda CR-V 2002-2009, Honda Element 2003-2011, Acura RDX 2002-2012, RSX 2002-2006, Acura TSX 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008. Customers can find the product you need accurately according to the OE number. Replacement part number: 15810-RAA-A01, 15810-RAA-A02, 15810-RAA-A03, 15810-PNE-G01, 917-224, 917224, 15810RAAA01, 15810RAAA03, 15810RAAA02, 15810PNEG01. Although the Honda VTEC solenoid remains a reliable component it will not last forever. Thick, dirty, or sludgy oil can clog up the phaser or the solenoid. That ’s the major way for these parts to become stuck. Thin oil could also cause premature wear inside the moving parts. The solenoid can also suffer electronic failure if any of its wiring burns out. Replacing a VTEC Solenoid is much easier, and can be handled by an experienced do it yourself.

Good Quality Good Price

Replaced original Honda K-24 engine part at a low price! The location of the part made installation difficult, but it was worth it. The OEM part showed the SAME installation difficulties.

Pros
  • Customers can find the right product exactly by OE number. Spare part number: 15810-RAA-A01, 15810-RAA-A02, 15810-RAA-A03, 15810-PNE-G01, 917-224, 917224, 15810RAA01, 15810RAA03, 15810RAA02, 15810PNEG01.
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Cheap Quality.: Motor Parts

Terrible quality. As you can see in the photo, a piece of metal broke off, destroying the seal. It is unclear where the broken piece went. God forbid the engine does not get. I will never buy parts from this brand again.

Pros
  • While the Honda VTEC Solenoid remains a reliable component, it does not last forever. Thick, dirty, or viscous oil can clog the phaser or solenoid. This is the main cause of these parts getting stuck. Thin oil can also cause premature wear of moving parts. An electronic solenoid can also fail if one of its wirings burns out. Replacing the VTEC solenoid is much easier and can be performed by an experienced technician.
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Works as it should, great price

I may have checked something else in this area. Oh! I hope this fixes it, if so. Time will tell how long this part lasts but it has now got my Element back on the road and the price was so cheap I almost didn't buy one. No matter how long it takes, it's worth the price.

Pros
  • This VTEC Solenoid Valve fits the following vehicles: Honda Accord 2003-2007 Honda Civic 2002-2005 Honda CR-V 2002-2009 Honda Element 2003-2011 Acura RDX 2002-2012 RSX 2002 - 2006, Acura TSX 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008.
Cons
  • Long delivery
