Not suitable for hand quilting

I received two stars for the color, but I am not satisfied with the workmanship. Thread seams pill and thin when hand quilted - very disappointing.

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Very good yarn for quilting

Good strong yarn for hand quilting. The thread threads easily into the needle, does not tangle, and glides smoothly as you sew. Coats & Clark is the only thread I trust with the quilt I've spent so much time creating.

  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Medium

Continuous. no confusion Excellent

Excellent. Exactly what I needed. I thought the color might be too dark to match my fabric but although it is darker it goes well with any grey. I definitely recommend it. I use it for paper sewing and it's a lot dumber than regular thread.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Some problems

Doesn't work on my sewing machine.

I did not carefully read the information provided - this thread is for MANUAL COMMUNICATION! I just saw the word "quilting" and thought it might be used on my machine. My needle (top thread) didn't stay threaded - it kept jumping out and forming a bird's nest. The color and weight are ok but I will only use it for hand quilting; It doesn't work in my Brother sewing machine.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • There are nuances

I chose two colors of this linen thread for a tunic I am making for my brother-in-law. Green is unfortunately unsuitable for this project and I can't think of what I would use it with as I find it an awkward electric color. But for some it may be perfect! And the thread may be thinner than I wanted, still good quality.

Pros
  • Thread and Floss
Cons
  • I don't remember

NO DOUBLE JOBS! NOT FOR SEWING MACHINE!

I'm sure it's great for hand quilting but I didn't buy it for that. I was actually looking for sewing machine thread and this is the first thing that came to mind. But it's not for the sewing machine and now I have to call an Uber to take it to the UPS store because I don't drive. Waste of money but if I keep it I'll just tell the sellers it's ok to advertise it as a dual use thread. and it isn't.

  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons

I love knitting with this yarn.

I love hand quilting. This is the only brand of cotton quilting thread I use. I use all the blankets I make and have to wash them frequently. When hand quilting with this thread, the fabric actually tears before the stitches are made. I was devastated when Hancock Fabrics closed its doors, but Revain gave me the freedom to shop at home and turned out to be a great place to shop for the fabrics and yarns that make my life great. I will definitely continue to buy Revain fabrics and accessories…
