Comfortable but gets warm and sweaty

First of all, the palm rest is soft, supportive, comfortable and stays in place on the table. The faux leather looks nice, is relatively durable and easy to clean. Those are pluses. One thing to note though: the material is not breathable which can cause your hands/wrists to get hot and sweaty. I don't even get sweaty hands - no issues with shaky hands, and I almost never use chalk when climbing. But when I sat in a room at around 75 degrees, I found my palms to get damp and sticky to that palm

NOT THAT IT WAS BEFORE.

I bought this in May 2013 and it has lasted over 5 years. Just last week, a tiny tear formed on the top of the faux leather, from which a white, sticky gel began to flow. I was glad I had to have it for 5 years. So I didn't hesitate to buy another one, expecting another 5 years or so of good use to look forward to. NOT CORRECT! This new one is terrible! My wrists resting on it leave an indentation that will NOT rebound. The material is just tangled while my previous one wasn't. This one felt…

Not like before.

I actually bought one of these (exact models) over 4 years ago and it was great. Firm, great support and durable. In fact, I still have it to this day. I recently ordered another one and it was completely different. The gel material they use in the palm rest is completely different. The new one is much softer and deforms easily. I elbowed it for a few minutes and it dented and wouldn't straighten up (so I now have a huge dent in the center of the palm rest). The edges no longer have a…

This wrist rest is too thin for many keyboards

High quality keyboards like the Das keyboard or other keyboards that are 1/2 inch or taller will NOT benefit from this wrist rest. A buyer with a typical thin cheap keyboard or Mac keyboard can be satisfied. The quality seems to be very good and it is quite soft, which is good. Can't say anything about the durability.

  • Great product

Love the mouse pads and wrist rest

I bought this 3M gel wrist rest to replace a badly worn keyboard palm rest. I bought it on August 4th 2018 and it is now December 13th 2018 and the edges are cracked and the gel is leaking out of the cracked areas. Not quite what I expected from a 3M branded product. I was expecting it to last longer than 4 1/2 months. All I can say is I am very disappointed, you get what you pay for. I would not and could not recommend this to anyone, for whatever reason.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

I've used two of these in two years.

For two years I have used two of these wrist rests in parallel to cushion my forearms and properly align my wrists, which has definitely reduced wrist stress and resulting pain. Additionally, the antimicrobial synthetic leather covering the gel-filled pads isn't smelly but isn't breathable, meaning it can feel a little sticky on humid days. Years of daily use began to bleed white gel material all over the seam where the faux leather meets and adheres to the heavy rubber base. Gorilla tape…

Great quality - a bit short

I only received this wrist rest 2 minutes ago and am writing this review while using it. The first thing I noticed was the quality. It feels way better than the foam pads sold at Office Depot, Staples and the like. The gel feels very soft (but not too soft) and the faux leather is also very pleasant to the touch. It's a good weight and doesn't seem to move at all - even before the plastic is peeled off the sticky underside. It's also nice and deep, basically as deep as four rows on a keyboard…
