It's a really good item

I was disappointed that my old trusty 3M white sandpaper seemed to have been replaced with this unknown item. But it's really good. Fold it in half so both sides don't slip against each other. Relax. And it really doesn't clog. Don't just score slowly, do all the work in one go. How can they make money selling something that works so well? I like it.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Not at all what I expected

I was really hoping this sandpaper would last as long as I've ever used it but I was so disappointed. I used cheap 0x sandpaper which lasted 10x longer than this junk. It won't even make a 1x6x6' board before it falls apart! He will be torn to pieces without support. I really want to send it back if I can. My honest opinion is don't waste your money. Buy what you know works.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Unreliable

Absolutely the best sandpaper ever!

I have not used any other sandpaper (except maybe Red Label abrasives) that works better or lasts longer! This stuff just works. I've used it on hardwood, softwood, fiberglass, gelcoat, it doesn't stick as quickly as other brands, it removes material more efficiently than most, it's durable (on a reed sander), other brands come loose faster and tear easier. I try not to use any other kind!

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Reliability

Carpenter's Little Helper

I'm a carpenter and I have to say this sander is really good. One day I was sanding between coats of paint and the painter who was painting my house saw me sanding and offered me a piece of this material. I immediately noticed a difference in my result. This sandpaper quickly removed the material and left a smooth surface. My next coat of polish turned out smooth and shiny thanks to the sanding underneath. It also takes a long time. Let's face it, hand sanding sucks, but it's often necessary…

Sandpaper backing can be a problem for your sander.

In general, Pro Sandpaper lasts longer than regular paper. They are definitely better quality, but they can also ruin your rubber backing pad. Grinding is accomplished by friction that causes heat. The backing of the paper is a waxy material that melts and sticks to the sander's black rubber pad. When you remove the paper you will lose a small amount of the gum that was stuck to it. Eventually you will lose pieces of the rubber padding material, rendering your grinder virtually useless. If you…

Great paper but fragile with one caveat

If you intend to use this sandpaper to sharpen steel, chisels, knives, planes etc. be careful. I've only noticed this with 3M 220 grit sandpaper, but it tends to curl, almost like thick lines of glue running the length of the paper. This is most noticeable when using a little grinding liquid or moisture when the blade is placed/taped to a flat surface such as glass or granite when sharpening steel. I haven't noticed this with any other grit I've used from 3M, only 220 grit. Depending on which…
