save your money learn to solder.

First I ordered this project and it came without a cable. When the replacement came with the wire, I found it almost impossible to properly extend all of my LED strips. I can't get the connections to work for life. The BEST I can do is get a 3 or 4 wire connection to make it work, but the extended band doesn't work properly. It really isn't a substitute for soldering.

Strip to wire connectors are awful

The rest of the kit is good but the strip to wire connectors don't provide a reliable connection (in all my attempts I didn't get all of the colors work) Unfortunately for me these connectors were the main reason I bought this kit. I ended up buying strip to strip jumpers and cut them down the middle to connect the length of cable I needed. Worked great! Lesson learned. Save yourself the frustration and avoid those unnecessary connections.

  • understandable even for the old one
Cons
  • Slightly torn

No connection EVER!

The cable itself works as it should. The "fast" ports were rubbish! Not a single thread connected. The light on the second thread is off. It looks like the shell is too thick for the blades to cut through on the connectors. After many frustrating hours without a backlight, I decided to just solder the wires to the light strands. TA DAH! now the light works. I was looking forward to getting more of this, but after that I'll just skip it and get more solder. They can leave their garbage outlets.

I mean. as if? in lighting and ceiling fans

Mostly I used cords. The "quick connectors" that you should use to connect an extension cord and LED strip don't really work, I couldn't connect them. I ended up using a white strip to strip the connectors and solder the cable on one side of it, all worked fine. I believe they're also great for connecting two LED strips together, although they'll fall out if you wiggle them too much. In short, if you know how to solder you should be able to get something working with this kit.

Please don't waste your money

I looked at some of the other negative reviews and figured it can't be that bad. Yes, that's right. A complete waste of money. I ran this wire behind my cabinets for a very complex ground plane and under the top cabinet LED lights. It's going to be great. Spoilers, it isn't. I've had to reroute different cables and use different connectors and my setup works great. Nothing worked in this package: wires or connectors. As others have said you can have a better connection in the plug and end up…

THE MOST PERFECT isolator!

Without a doubt one of the most effective isolators I have ever used as advertised. Wire-to-strip connectors cannot penetrate the insulation of a 4-wire cable, although they do hold the wire in place. The striped side of the plugs can't even physically hold the strip in the plug, it will fall off immediately. Because the mechanical connection is very poor, the electrical connections provided by the piercing lugs cannot even scratch the surface of the strip to make contact. Similarly with the…

Wire and glue clips are useful, but connectors are rubbish

If you need regular wire for low voltage applications, this wire will do. Adhesive clips work well too. The quick connectors (black and clear connectors) that run from the RGB cable to the waterproof strip are absolute rubbish. I can't say enough, just solder your connections. A complete soldering kit costs less than $20, saving you so much time. Check out some YouTube videos, it takes a little patience but it can be done. I almost lost my mind trying to work with these fast connectors. The…

Don't buy this go on

The wire is ok and you don't need to strip it because of the terminals provided but here is the part. Brackets are absolute junk and a waste of money. I could buy 20 gauge wire from Home Depot and skip this product. Stripping wire even at the 18 gauge marking on my wire strippers would still rip out the strands of wire. Here's what you do, but fold up the multicolored wire at your local hardware or electronics store and buy a soldering iron. You can learn how to solder and learn yourself. This…

Some assembly required

I bought this to make some jumpers so I can run the LED lights through the kitchen (over the cabinets). Unfortunately, I start with a set of waterproof lights and two sets of interior lights. The waterproof kit has a very thick plastic cover that covers the headlights, others do not have such a thick cover. I found that the cable going to the LED strip connectors is not working. Unless you use waterproof tape, the pins simply won't penetrate to make contact with the LED strip. I'll try to build

Solved my problem in connections

Easy to recommend. The price was right. The delivery was fast (premium). This solved the problem. An extension cord for the LED strip terminals was just what I needed to solve my poor soldering skill problem. However, I will say that they were not fully protected by ID10t. It took 2 tries to figure out that the easiest way is to use the real-time circuit; as opposed to assembling it on a workbench and transporting it to the installation site. Open the retaining clips wide, disconnect the…
