A hydraulic tappet, also known as a hydraulic valve lifter or hydraulic lash adjuster, is a device for maintaining zero valve clearance in an internal combustion engine. Conventional solid valve lifters require regular adjusting to maintain a small clearance between the valve and its rocker or cam follower. Hydraulic lifters can collapse, with no oil cushion to dampen the pounding from the tappet or push rod. Solid lifters can wear on their camshaft side, along with the camshaft lobes. Too much oil in the crankcase can cause oil aeration, or air bubbles, a condition when the crankshaft churns up the oil by direct contact. Please carefully compare the pictures or OE numbers to match your original parts before purchasing the product. If you are not sure if this product is suitable for your model, please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

TOTAL FAIL best in Motor Parts

I'm in shock, just spent a month assembling a new motor, head etc. In one week, three of these lifters failed. They fell apart completely. What an absolute nightmare. I even use a large volume high pressure oil pump. This is just Chinese crap. It sucks, every time I stop I have to listen to the motor before turning it off so I know if another lift has failed.

Pros
  • Spares
