🚗 K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: Boost Horsepower for 2010-2013 KIA (Forte, Forte Koup, Forte5) Review

What was frustrating when tightening the vacuum coupler is that the threads are plastic and break very easily. I've tried just buying a new titanium tube and clutch, but K&N won't offer them. I want K&N to fix this. I had to spend another $300 to buy another whistle.

I love this air intake on my 2010 Koup SX. I didn't buy it to have a major impact on performance, so it doesn't bother me, although it seems to help some people. The big difference is in the noise when accelerating. Sounds great, make my Kia some balls.

It has flattened my torque curve and the power is distributed much more evenly. I bought this air intake mostly because of the background noise and it also lives up to expectations. In addition to this intake, I also use a 2.5" cat-back exhaust from Turbokits.com and the WOT sound is aggressive and sporty.

Although I didn't buy this my son did and he never takes the time to check. He is very picky when it comes to his car. He was very happy. He says he saves gas and his car seems to run better. Regarding the installation I only heard one bad word and he almost sent me to the shop to get a nut, he thought it wasn't included in the installation kit but before I walked out the door he found that he had it would have . It was just a different species, then what is NORMAL? one was similar.

The description doesn't say it will fit a 2013 Forte SX Sedan but it does. The engine compartments are almost the same for all years, models and trim levels. Other than that, this is one of the best purchases I've made for my car. Sounds great, car runs better (still not sure as ECU was reset during install). The acceptance also seems to be better. I have a K&N air intake on my 5.3 liter Silverado and it impressed me so I chose it for my Forte. I saw a video online demonstrating the difference in sound and couldn't believe it - thought they moved the mic or something. I can say that the sound is radically different and much rougher with this inlet. In the 4-5,000 rpm range you can really hear it, but in the 2,000-3,000 range it will still snarl a bit. I installed this on my 2009 Kia Optima Lx 5 speed transmission. 2.4 liters, same as the forte sx so I knew I could do it. The instructions could have been simplified, but I managed. Stock, my Optima was too quiet. I needed some noise, but not from the exhaust. Inline fours sound to me. Well, not as good as flat-fours, but intake grunts and roars can be heard from any engine configuration. It's expensive IMO, but totally worth it for me. I purchased and installed this product in January. It is installed on the 2011 Kia Forte LX. Here are my observations: 1. Power: At low rpm and light throttle, the power difference is almost imperceptible. I didn't feel any difference until over 3000 rpm and then only negligible.
