8 Pack Bolt Pockets Mounting Hardware Review

Internal dimensions NOT 1.5 x 3.5 inches. I had to cut the regular 2x4's to get into them. The standard 2 x 4 size is 1.5 x 3.5 inches. The brackets are otherwise solid and support the stands after they've all been cut to size. Installation took longer and wasn't as clean as it should have been.

These panniers will work but you will need to trim the 2x4 to fit. You should also paint them as they are made of raw steel and will rust quickly. Nice that they come with mounting hardware. I would rate them higher if it weren't for the comments above.

Very strong and good hardware, some modifications needed. Not wide enough for a standard 2x4. I had to cut down to 3-1/16". Carriage Bolts have a rectangular shape under the head to secure them in the square hole on the bracket. The square on the bolt is too deep so they cannot be fully tightened to the trailer. I took each stud to my bench grinder and ground a square section the same thickness as the stirrup. It now runs flush through the trailer hole but still has enough room left to attach…
