Heavy duty but I'm changing because all the paint is peeling.

Heavy. real metal It's good? I don't know because my hands were covered in paint shavings when I took it out of the box. I'll trade it in and try again because I liked its weight and the push mechanism felt smooth and easy to use. Over the years I have made many eyelets and latches using either the hammer method or the hand crimp method. The idea behind this is good but I'll be using it outside all summer so I need a solid coat of paint to keep it from rusting. Looks like they threw it in the…

Ideal for both attaching eyelets and punching holes

assembly instructions were clear and simple. I punched holes through 1-2 layers of ripstop nylon and one layer of planquet. To punch the hole, I applied pressure, rotated the material about 15 degrees, and punched again. Three hits did it. Only one pressing operation was required when pressing the eyelets. I installed 60 half inch grommets with no problems. The delivery was faster than expected - two days instead of six. I've tried a hand cutter and dies in the past that required a total of 100

Pros
  • So far satisfied
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Invalid description; Wrong size die included

It was described that dies for sleeve sizes 0, 2 and 4 are included. Unfortunately the smallest die is a size 00 and not a 0. I specifically ordered this press because I use a lot of size 0 bushings. I've tried using a "size 0" die with an actual size 0 bushing (see photo of the black bushing) but it doesn't fit and so the results are poor. I've tried to find a size 0 die to fit this press with no success so far, which means it's a $50 paperweight to the best of my knowledge. Bushings are the…

The best press for the money.

If you're looking for an eyelet press for Kydex or other projects, this press worked great. It clicks consistently, won't rip your grommets unless you use too much force, and unlike those that require a hammer, won't damage the finish of your grommets. The big plus is the ease of use. I had a large manual eye press which was more of a warm up than a treat. After receiving this I really enjoy pressing the tabs required for the project. The included dies and grommets are as easy to use as they…

I'm an idiot at installing bushings!

I've been using this machine for two days and I really like it so far. I have a small craft business and am tired of using a hammer to attach eyelets. Mine came with instructions which were helpful. My only problem is that I drive so fast that I sometimes forget to put one side of the jack in the setter. This is clearly not a manufacturing defect. At least from the side of the car. I'm happy to pass on tips. My current project consists of two layers of durable twill with quilted wadding in…

Bought 2x not compatible

I have ordered this press from this seller before and wanted a second one so I wouldn't have to change as many dies so I bought from the same seller again . The second arrived today and I was a little surprised to see that it wasn't as good as the first. The former has a nice and clean finish with an even coat of paint. Judging by the photo, this is not the case. The paintwork is uneven and flakes off when touched, and the hole where the top screw sits goes through the side so the screw is…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
