Description of 💻 Ableconn PU31-AC-2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) Type-C and Type-A PCIe x4 Host Adapter Card with ASMedia ASM3142 Chipset

One USB 3.1 Type-A (USB-A) and one Type-C (USB-C) downstream connectors. Up to 10Gbps data transfer speed, twice as fast as USB 3.0. Low Profile board. Include both Low Profile and Regular Size PCIe brackets. PCIe x4 card fits in any PCIe 2.0 or PCIe 3.0 x4 or x8 or x16 slot. Instead of taking 5V power directly from power supply, our design includes power switching regulator circuit that automatically converts 12V from PCIe bus or from 15-Pin SATA power to ensure sufficient 5V/3A bus power on USB 3.1 Type C port and 5V/2A on Type A port. No driver installation is required on MacOS 10.9 to 10.10, and 10.12 and later (NOTE: MacOS 10.11 in-box driver doesn't support ASMedia USB 3.1), Win10/8, Server 2012 and later; Linux 2.6.31 and later. Driver download is available for 32/64 bit Windows 7/Vista, and Windows Server 2008/2003. Built with ASMedia ASM3142. Fully RoHS compliant. Made in Taiwan. Note: The card does not support DP Alt Mode or USB Power Delivery.

Possible interference with internal Bluetooth connections.

Compatible with Mac OS 10.12.6 Sierra on Mac Pro 5.1 2009, this card is easy to plug in and use and works great! BUT note that this can interfere with the internal Bluetooth signal, making a peripheral Bluetooth connection impossible. (This is a known potential issue with some USB 3.0 and 3.1 cards installed in computers with Bluetooth). Initially, after installing the card, my APPLE Magic Mouse started to work very unevenly and then stopped working altogether. But after establishing a working…

Works in Mac Pro 2010

This is my first recap of "Day One"; I might update it after a few months of use. I bought this card despite cheaper but functionally equivalent alternatives because it was known to be compatible with macOS. In my case it worked right away without installing drivers or any other issues. Installation wasn't trivial, but that's Apple's fault, no issues with this card. The Mac Pro Mid 2010 (5.1) does not have easily accessible SATA connectors or cables extending from the motherboard, but this card

This card only works on my Win10Pro Dell T5500, that's the point. Meets my need for faster speeds than SATA2 for external storage. My question is, and you should also be asking, why my Samsung T5 review is slower when plugged into a USB-A port than when plugged into a USB-C port. % slower when using a T5 drive with USB-C <-> USB-A <-> USB-A connector vs. a T5 drive with USB-C <-> USB-C <-> USB-CI Screenshots back to you later, but for now know that this card runs at a…

Very satisfied - internals

POSITIVE Well made, met all expectations and compatibility wasn't an issue as my Mac Pro 5.1 (3.33) can be finicky with most USB3 cards and especially PCIe Express. This product uses a 16x line. NEGATIVES While the system information definitely shows up as USB 3.1, the ASM1351 reports a maximum speed of 5 GB/s, which conforms to the 3.0 standard. I'm glad to have a working 3.0 standard that is compatible, but was hoping that higher speeds would be available with a '3.1' rated card. I'm using a…

It works. But you can't reach 10 Gbps speed?

Well, I'm new to all things updating your computer. I have this 2010 Mac Pro with a quad core processor. The installed card works without the need to install drivers or anything else. I use HighSierra. I have connected 2 backup devices with USB 3.0 cables to one portable hard drive and the other to a Thunderbolt/USB 3.0 external hard drive. I then used the correct USB 3.1 cables purchased from Amazon for both. The speeds were the same. FYI, the read and write speed of the Thunderbolt drive was…

I bought two models of this card, but Revain doesn't allow me to write two different reviews, so I average the reviews by 3, but please pay attention to the details. I was struggling to find a PCIe USB-C card that would work well with my Logitech StreamCam. I bought several cards and many of them didn't work properly. The StreamCam either showed up as a USB 2 device and couldn't run 60 fps, or encountered other strange issues that slowed the framerate down to 5 fps at 1080p, causing a lot of…

I have two different USB-C connector boards with ASMedia ASM2142 chip (PU31-2C-2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps), 2 Type-C ports) for my Dell XPS8700, high-end PC purchased with 16GB of memory. The cards were guaranteed to work with Windows 10. One failed immediately, the second didn't work at all. The first card worked for about two minutes. Then I got a crazy error message with a QR code saying Windows had never seen this error. Then my computer uploaded a bunch of data to Microsoft and restarted. The

Card installs well, works for a bit then disappears

Note: This rating has been upgraded from five stars to three stars as per the updates. The onboard USB 3.0 port on my Dell Precision workstation delivered low frame rates for a connected microscope camera. Internet searches have revealed other users with similar problems but with no workable solutions. My attempted solution was a USB 3.1 PCI-e card. I plugged it into the appropriate slot and connected the camera. I had to reboot the system to activate the driver and recognize the camera. After…
