Great product - tools and equipment

I used this to replace a wheel bearing on my car. It worked great and made the job a lot easier as I didn't have to remove the knuckle and then carry it somewhere to indent it. I followed the recommendations of using a quality lube and everything went smoothly. Take your time.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Worse, I found I could no longer replace this

I bought this product thinking it would help me press out the front hub bearings on my wife's minivan that I needed to replace. The first time I tried it, the long bolt that was supposed to be the front anchor fell off my head! I ended up taking the hub for the bearing press to a dealership that presses bearings for a fee. Worse, I found I couldn't replace it anymore, at least the screw that broke!

Pros
  • . Good product for the price
Cons
  • Operating speed

Works great and is durable

I've had it for over a year with no problems. I used it to replace wheel bearings on a 2002 Ford Escape. He removed the bearing from the hub and pressed the new 1 right in. I also used it to press a transmission gasket into my truck. I keep the screw lubricated and have had no trouble removing it. I almost didn't buy it as I thought I wouldn't use it often, but it has come in handy and is a nice addition to my toolbox when trying to fix my cars. Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Very good tool kit for the money

I bought this tool to remove the wheel bearings on my front wheel drive car. The head of the screw broke off on the first tool and I immediately contacted ABN who sent me another one. Edit: The second bolt broke in exactly the same way when I was removing the bearing from the front of my Ford Escape 05. I immediately contacted them about this and received no response. I've attached pictures of my dilemma but they don't seem interesting. The screw material is too soft and needs to be updated. I…

Use appropriate discs.

Bought a wheel bearing and hub replacement kit for my 2005 Volkswagen Passat. I was disappointed when the screw fell apart on the first try. I realized that I had used a larger diameter shim than the knuckle. After figuring out the screw size (3/4-16" x 6" Grade 8), I was lucky enough to find it at one of my local screw and bolt stores. The toolbox worked great for me afterwards. The head of the original screw was slightly smaller than the ones I bought (27mm and 32mm). I give 5 stars even if…

You get what you pay for.

Use it once to remove the front wheel bearing on a 2011 Ford Focus. The two washers used to reduce friction are extremely soft and broke after I lubricated them with quality friction reducing grease due to the high force required to remove the pressed bearing. The adapters are of good quality and will fit most cars. 3/4"-16 thread washers and bolts are too soft and I don't think they will hold up to repeated use. You can see the damage to the bolt head in the photos. I used a hammer to try and…

This product is amazing! Everything was in the box

This product is amazing! Everything was in the box. I was skeptical at first and expected something to break. But nothing broke! Use lots of penetrating oil on the bearing and put lots of lube on the threads and you'll be fine. Be sure to align the cups and use the correct setting. The threads on the metal did release very light metal debris really, but nothing to worry about. Would recommend to a mechanic friend or do dyi. Good tool for home or work. Tip: We recommend buying the bearing and…

Pros
  • Black oxide finish and packaged in a strong molded case
Cons
  • I have nothing wrong with it everything is fine

Broke on the first try. Poorly made jacking screw

Good quality pressure plates and cups. However, the most important part, the blower screw, is scrap. Instead of using a solid hardened bolt, they just cut a threaded rod to length, screwed a nut onto the back, and then did a cheap tack weld to hold the nut in place. Well, the very first time I used it, the jackbolt came loose from the nut because the weld could not withstand the torque. I contacted ABN directly and was told they only have a one year warranty; which I understand but I offered to

  • Designed for use with the steering knuckle and strut assembly still on the vehicle
Cons
  • Functionality

"bolt " junk. Doesn't go well with Odysseus. 1 star is generous.

Extremely disappointed. Very bad quality. I got hold of this kit to make a front wheel bearing for our 2009 Odyssey - the reviews specifically said the largest receiver cup was big enough for this. yes, not really. Slightly larger than the bearing itself - would not sit flat under load, continued to move in the tapered front of the knuckle and began to damage the leading edge of the knuckle. I'm a professional mechanic and I know how they're supposed to work (I have a similar one but too small…
