Great Update - Ignition Parts

It really made a big difference. Once I got my timing set, throttle response was quicker. And it starts much faster. And idleness suffocates

Poor quality ignition parts

I purchased the product, the ACCEL Points Eliminator 2020 kit, and after installing the Roto Shutter (Part #338, thin plastic) it fell completely apart in my hands when I got it took out package. Had to order a replacement part from Summit Racing at a parts surcharge (MAA-338) and expedited shipping surcharge to get the car back on the road. In fact, I was thankful it fell apart before installation and not on the freeway.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Not sure

Unreliable - Parts

I used to have a 4 rating but have only driven this car once or twice at the time of this review. I still don't know exactly what was going on, but the engine just randomly stalled as if you turned the key off instead of restarting. My guess is that the device replacing the actual switches had a faulty internal connection. This delayed me twice, the second time it took a tow truck to get the car back to my workshop. The original glasses were put back in and my car is 100% again.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Only available in Black

PERFECT FIT with ignition parts

NO PROBLEM IN INSTALLATION. IN THIS CASE, REMOVAL OF THE DISTRIBUTOR WAS ONLY NECESSARY BECAUSE MY DISTRIBUTOR HAS A TACHOIST. I THINK THE DISTRIBUTOR WITHOUT TACHOISTOR DOES NOT HAVE TO BE DISASSEMBLED FOR INSTALLATION. THIS MUST BE A PERSONAL CALL. NO MORE POINTS. I wish I hadn't done it 20 years ago. I HAVE REPLACED THE COIL WITH THE RECOMMENDED ACCELL COIL. IF THE SYSTEM IS REPLACED, IT WILL BE CLOSER TO ORIGINAL THAN OTHER AFTERMARKET IGNITION SYSTEMS, EXCEPT FOR ADDITIONAL WIRING. WORKS…

Pros
  • GOLS certified

Pretty easy installation. Don't like cold.

The listing picture is not similar to what you will get but you use your own rotor. The car starts a bit faster, I didn't notice any other differences. It's easy enough to install in the car with the distributor mounted in the front, when in the rear it's recommended to pull to make sure the bolts for the rotor are installed properly and don't hit the pickup. ***UPDATE*** 18 months after install started having problems when temp was below 50F then started randomly for 5-15 minutes after initial

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High Price
