Convenient to use but doesn't hold pressure for reading

I had no problem fitting a pressure gauge to the valve stem with no leaks but when I removed it from the valve the pressure went out before I I could read it without touching the exhaust valve. I read something hoping it would get better, but it didn't. Revain took it back as defective. I removed a star because the description doesn't say it doesn't hold the pressure until manually deflated. So it's possible that this is a design flaw that they are aware of. Good clinical thermometer. Also works with removable core valves

This gauge works well with my Presta readings protruding 1 inch from the rim, which is quite a lot. Some reviewers have complained that even shorter values don't work with the gauge and blame the gauge and they are right in that the description should state what size valve stem is needed. However, this limitation does not apply to all of my bikes and does apply most people don't, and a longer shim is likely to increase trace performance.
