Thermostat works as intended and replaces a stuck OEM thermostat. The thermostat is one of the trickiest things on a GM 4.2 engine, no simple method will work no matter how hard You Tube mechanics try to tell you. It's best to start with knowledge of the difficulty and bring plenty of patience, a long-sleeved shirt and the right tools. A short wrench is required for the bottom alternator bolt. I could write a lot more, but I'll stop here. The complexity of the installation is due to the design…

Perfect OEM part for GM 4.2 I6

Unlike the part in the picture this is the correct thermostat for the 4.2 Trailblazer. The one in the picture has a lot of creases in the fold and just doesn't look right. Rest assured that the part you receive is the correct shape and is a genuine ACDelco part. For reference the ACDelco part number is 15-11006 and the GM part number is 12620112, as you can see in the pictures the numbers are molded into the part itself. It's made by Behr, the GM OEM/manufacturer for this part (as well as the…

Install the highest quality possible

Had to replace this thermostat/housing assembly to fix a repeating low coolant temp code. As other reviews say, poorly designed access gives you multiple options to do this. I decided to remove the battery, alternator and engine lift bracket for access. There are a few AC lines that get in the way, but they can be bypassed. Make sure the alternator bottom bolt is inserted into it before it is fully seated, otherwise it will not be able to slide over the A/C line. He brought a temperature gauge…

Perfect fit OEM replacement thermostat

Perfect OEM replacement thermostat for my 04 Trailblazer LS 4.2L SUV. I had already replaced my original factory installed thermostat with another brand at about 130,000 miles BUT either this unit was faulty or had failed after months of installation so after ruling out other possible causes of code P0128 (engine temp not at operating temperature) soon enough) The only thing left is the thermostat, AGAIN! If you're a DIYer like me, replacing the thermostat on these trucks is NOT the easiest…

GM Envoy-Trailblazer Thermostat Replacement - OEM - Great Value

OEM part, not OEM dealer price. Fixed Envoy slow warm up with 4.2 L6. Painful replacement - search the web for full instructions - there are many ways to replace this part. This is why they built the thermostat into the throat as there would be no way to hold the thermostat and then place the body on top of it. It fits perfectly, it was an OEM part. Fixed slow heating issue, a common problem with these engines. Use a scanner and monitor your temperature. I also recommend replacing the…

05 Chevy Trailblazer 4.2L 4x4

Direct Replacement Fits and appears to work. It hurts to change, best I can tell you. Drain the liquid. Take 2 extra long extension cords universally wrapped in electrical tape to hold them. Remove the wheel on the driver's side, insert the rack post, you can get both screws. Use the magnet to get them. Once you've removed the lower hose from the radiator, you can use standard pliers to pull it down to access the spring clip. Then pull the thermostat up and out. Put the new one back in place…

OE part. - Engine Cooling and Climate Control

Was an accurate factory part for a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer with an inline 6 cylinder engine. It's quite difficult to install, but I can't fault the seller for that. I've seen a lot of videos on You Tube about how to replace this and unfortunately most of the time the videos make it more difficult and you parse a lot more than necessary. Jack up the vehicle briefly, place it on the stand and remove the left/left wheel. Disconnect the negative pole of the battery. Remove the timing belt but…

Perfect part but a bit tricky to install

This part is obviously a perfect replacement for the original thermostat. Product photos are not very accurate but mine arrived as an aluminum casting just like the original. I installed it on my 2003 Trailblazer EXT 4.2L in about an hour. Installation was easy and required few tools. Tools: 3/8" breaker 3/8" ratchet 3/8" extension (6") 3/8" swivel 8mm socket 10mm socket 15mm socket Channel lock pliers 1 - Disconnect the battery (8mm bolt) . 2 - Remove the poly V-belt from the alternator pulley
