Insufficient juice output

Every time I turned my headlights on, they dimmed when I turned on the turn signal. It just doesn't produce enough juice. Returned this item and bought a higher performance and no problems. I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. Can work for small cars. Definitely not a 5.7 liter V8.

Short Life Parts

Bought this alternator for my 1998 Suburban. Perfect fit and I was hoping it was the last thing a truck needs. Fast forward to 2016 to 2020 and about 30,000 miles and here I am replacing the alternator again. I suspect the voltage regulator has failed, but I expected more from the AC Delco brand. Please return it to AC Delco Parts Manufacturing in the USA. My 3 Chevy will really appreciate it!

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • No Instructions

MADE IN CHINA suitable for spare parts

It fits and works as advertised but I bought the AC Delco brand because I needed a US made part for my Chevy. Pulling it out of the box I was blown away to find the MADE IN CHINA sticker. I thought I bought a fake and emailed AC Delco. They sent me something along the lines of "We are a global company and ship our products worldwide". If I had known I was getting a Chinese product I would have saved the money and just bought one of the Chinese alternators here at Revain for a lot less.

i have a bad one for generators

Disappointment. I bought this original alternator for my truck to keep it running and to replace an old alternator of indeterminate age so I don't have to change the alternator in the middle of winter. It ran about 12,000 miles and then the exciter circuit failed. I'm looking for ways to fix this. But the truth is that back in February I had to change the generator in the parking lot in the snow with great inconvenience and embarrassment. I'm currently working on the original, which I kept in…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Acdelco makes some really good parts and the prices here are hard to beat.

His acdelco pro part has not replaced more than the original Delphi on my Silverado and is currently doing its job. Acdelco makes some really good parts and the Amazon prices are hard to beat, especially if you have Prime. The only issue I have is that Amazon or UPS dropped it pretty high because it bent the pulley which is pretty hefty. It was so bent that it could not be used. Luckily I have takes that I make and I was able to swap out my old Delphi reel for this one.

Bad Warranty: Starters and Alternators

Not very happy with it. Purchased May 2016, now October 2016. I continue to have issues with HEI module burn out. The module was replaced 4 times before I finally diagnosed the problem with a faulty alternator rectifier. This, of course, is only covered by the 'you send us the parts and we'll tell you' guarantee (which one, why waste my time on that?) which only replaces the alternator if they find they are ok with that Diagnosis. I bought AC Delco because they used to be great. Between the…

Fits my 1996 5.7L Chevy c1500 truck snugly

Fits my 1996 5.7L Chevy c1500 truck snugly. It is located at the top of the engine, so it is very easy to reach. using a 3/8 ratchet to turn the tensioner and remove the serpentine belt. 10mm and 13mm sockets or wrenches are required depending on the location of the 4 alternator mounting screws and the ground wire screw. And of course don't forget to remove the black wire from the battery before doing anything on the electrical component. The alternator was positioned exactly to line up with…
