Screwed on and working. This is the first GM starter I've had to replace in almost two decades. No complaints. In my case, pads are not needed.

Excellent starter, exact OEM replacement. On the truck since last September and never missed a beat. I had to bend it a bit to keep it from making that horrible noise that GM starters make, but that's every GM starter.

The starter turned well and very quickly. The only problem was that it wouldn't turn off when I turned the key to the "ON" or "OFF" position! I verified that the problem is with the starter by troubleshooting the ignition lock, among other things. It seems that the quality control in China is not up to par.

Defective after 3 months and I couldn't start my truck to get to work. Good thing my boss is a decent guy and I didn't get fired. The starter turned but did not engage the piston to push the gear into the flywheel. Sometimes it works after 5 or 6 tries, but I can't count on it. At least ACDelco guaranteed it, but I still had to spend time installing it and the inconvenience of not starting the car. Installing a new starter now in the middle of winter. Complete rubbish, you get what you pay for,
