USE: NYOrtho Gait Belts allow for safe handling and mobility of elderly or weak jointed patients. Gait Belts help caregivers provide support and prevent falls. The NYOrtho gait belts also protect caregivers' back and reduce risk of back injury while assisting the patient. MATERIAL: The NYOrtho Gait Belts are made of sturdy and comfortable 2 Inch cotton webbing. Offered in a variety of colors to fit all needs. Neutral colors are available for subtle use or bright patterns are available for ease of recognition. HEAVY DUTY BUCKLE: Nickel-plated buckles allow for superior hold and extra durability. Also available with an easy to slip on Delrin (plastic) buckle. INSTRUCTIONS: Place belt around patient’s waist with the tag facing outward on the left side of the patient and the buckle in the center of patient's waist. To fasten gait belt, thread metal-tipped end through buckle hinge, over teeth, and through slot at back of buckle. Pull at each end of the buckle to tighten and ensure fasten securement. MACHINE WASHABLE: The NYOrtho Gait Belts can be machine washed on lukewarm setting and dried on low to maintain pristine condition.

Great Quality Item: my feedback

I am a traveling Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and this bariatric gait belt completes my travel bag. This is the gait belt that I have been looking for, but refused to pay $15-20 at the local drugstore. You will not be sorry with the quality of construction of this item; it is well worth the small amount of $$ paid. I received this belt in 2 days, which was very fast shipping service to my area. Very satisfied with purchase!

Excellent gait belt!

This belt works wonderfully for my client! At 87 years old, she is completely blind and struggles with advanced parkinson's disease and dementia. She does surprisingly well with her willingness to do daily exercises to keep her strength up. She has a progressive disease that caused her to lose her sight in her thirties, but she still thinks very fondly of her favorite colors: purple and green! She likes to wear those colors when possible and have her nails done, too! She was THRILLED to learn…

Works great! on my review.

Used to assist in self-lifting effected foot onto bed or into car following total hip replacement. Worked wonderfully to prevent damage to the hip unit.

Get this one! in my review

I am a PT and these types of belts with the metal buckle are the only ones worth getting. The others can be dangerous. Just remember when you put it on someone to put the strap through the teeth first, not last. Then you can tighten it up with one hand if you need to. Otherwise you will have to use two hands to do it. And when they get worn they tend to slip. You may want to get a new one.
