Great for terminating wires

They are good for terminating wires. I used the hydraulic hex that came with the appropriate dies. This connection mates with the wires and then crimps well. Then I pulled the wires and couldn't get them out. Seems to be a good wiring harness.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Nothing

It's what you would expect

This is a crimp connector. With no insulation that's hard to find. I like to use them and then solder them in and add heat shrink tubing on top. I was tired of cutting insulation from every crimp I could find at an auto parts store, so I was glad I could still find simple ones.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Nothing here

They appear to be good quality at a good wholesale price

uninsulated plug. They appear to be of good quality at a good wholesale price. I prefer to use these and heat shrink tubing where appropriate. Proper crimping combined with heat shrink creates a quality repair that looks very professional compared to anything I've done before.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • So far so good

Exactly what I wanted

I bought them at the same time as another brand and they are much better. They are double-walled and of high quality. Personally, I prefer bare wires to insulated connectors; Less "volume" with adhesive shrink tubing over plastic insulation. So if you want a clean install with decent connectors, start with these folks.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Long delivery time

How to actually splice car wire

These sleeves combined with high quality heat shrink provide a superior splice compared to insulated butt connectors. Insulated butt connectors are for emergencies, so keep them with you, but this will be your new choice. .

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Good but not great

Good quality butt connectors

Slightly shorter than 3M 18-22 AWG connectors (0.59" (15mm) vs. 0.625") and slightly heavier (0.028 oz. vs. 0.026 oz.) . As announced, the number of packages was 100 pieces. I bought 16-14 AWG connectors from Crimp Supply and only got 98 out of 100 twice. The material of the part is advertised as T2 (China, UK) copper, which is equivalent to C11000 (US, ASTM). Overall this appears to be a quality butt connector if you don't mind that it's made in China.

Pros
  • Industrial Electrical
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Thick connectors that crimp well.

I was in a hurry to hook up my trailer lights so I ordered two different sets of butt connectors from Revain. This was my favorite brand and I ended up using it! I crimped them onto 18ga wire, then soldered the connection and sealed it with self-adhesive heat shrink tubing. Pros - Thick walls that crimp well and make a good physical connection - Beveled edges help feed wire inside - End didn't break when crimped like other brands - Tinned and took solder well Cons - The box was a bit thin so Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Available in white only

Forget the soldering Industrial Electrical

I've recently started using these bare butt connectors, bought all three sizes and keep them in stock regularly when they run out. I'm an auto mechanic and do a lot of wire repairs, especially here lately for some reason. I use anything to solder because I was a firm believer that soldering makes the best connections, but I've found that it's faster than soldering and when done right with the right tools, such as using a special crimping tool for bare butt joints Adhesive backed shrink coatingโ€ฆ
