Doesn't last long - Generators

Junk. Lasted one year and 21 days from the date of installation. We called service, they said they couldn't help as the warranty year had expired.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Can't remember

Only works for 4 months

Only lasted 4 months, really everything cheap becomes expensive at some point. Remember that you will only buy the solution for a very short period of time, do not waste your money buying this solution.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Little things

Lasted 2.5 years in alternators and alternators

Bought for my wife's 2007 civilian car. My mechanic put it together with a new serpentine belt. Did well but died after 2.5 years. Should get 4+ years from the alternator. I probably should have shelled out the extra $20

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Legacy model

Do not buy. - Alternators

Do not buy Item only lasted about a month and a half after return date and damaged the battery with it. Use a stronger generator! because you're just wasting your time and risk getting stuck somewhere. Terrible product.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Broke after 10,000 km.

Went out and bought this generator hoping it would last, but it ended up living a year and a half before it started dying. I went and emailed the sellers to inquire about product warranties but they did not email me back. I would not recommend this product without a guarantee or expectation that it will work momentarily. I've only driven my car about 10,000 miles since I installed it in my Honda Civic.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Ok

Perfect fit for Civic EX 4dr 1.8L

Fits perfect seems to work great. I completed the exchange in about 45 minutes. It's helpful to borrow or buy a "belt serpentine tool," which is a long, thin wrench handle with several short sockets. The spanner/spanner doesn't have enough play for a standard ratchet and the wrench isn't long enough (but doable). The belt does not need to be removed, but if it has come loose the easiest way is to put it on from under the wheelhouse.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons

DO NOT BUY THIS Generator Item

1 star because 0 is not an option. Lasted just as long as the warranty expired and then stalled while driving. 65 mph and my car stopped in the middle of the freeway because the alternator wasn't doing its job and not charging the battery enough to keep it going. I was trying to find someone to help me and they said they would help me find a new part and anything I don't want to pay good money for another part that will just fail in a few months. It's better to spend the extra and get it from…

Is the new $92 ship or the $240 autozone?

Let me tell you something. I was a little skeptical buying a $92 NEW alternator that arrived the next day? I have a 2009 Honda Civic 1.8L - first impressions are WOW, clean solid piece of iron. Comes with everything needed for installation. I also had to remove a few brackets from the old one. This block fits like a glove. No changes required. It was painful to unscrew the bottom bolt under the pulley from the old block without the proper tools, but I managed. The reason for this is not new…

Half the price you would pay in Auto Zone!

There was a slight delay in delivery and I haven't installed it yet. The old man dies a slower death than originally thought. Thought of returning it for a refund as money is tight but I'm getting hints that I REALLY need a new alternator. And given that buying one from the AutoZone is double what I paid for this one (rebuilt but whatever. Me too.) I consider it a win. Now on YouTube to learn how to install it. Divorce taught me to be an independent woman who can do anything. That expands the…
