I've had this heater for two days now and it still smells when it's on. That's the smell you smell when you visit the hospital. I have no idea if it's the finish or the concrete the wires are embedded in. It's really punchy and appears to have about the same performance as the competing Eco-Heat product. Bought this heater to replace the one in our dressing room. When I compare my old heater (no longer working) to this one, it heats up more, which is good. My old one had a built in thermostat and I was surprised the new one didn't have it. Apparently they don't care anymore but I bought a plug in thermostat for it and it fixed the problem.
