It's a workhorse, suitable for other office equipment

I had a huge amount of old files and papers that needed to be shredded and this machine got the job done. Not many jams unless I tried to check the volume or thickness of paper to be crammed in right away and they were easy to clear. I recommend no more than 8 sheets at a time. The device will shut down to cool down if you use it continuously for more than an hour, but it doesn't take long to get back to work and still offers a nice break. The only downside is that the recycle bin can get full…

Basic is better than brand name

Ideal for quick spam processing. It can fit on the counter. It can destroy most envelopes without even opening them. Good size chopped pieces. The CIA can, of course, collect your newspaper, but someone else will surrender. For credit card offers and other mail, it may take a few days to a week. The bin is smaller than the freestanding model, but a countertop design like this is why you're looking at it and not the freestanding model. I wish the bin was a little lighter, but I won't blame it at

RELIABLE GRINDING MACHINE, HIGH PRICE

The day after I received this grinder, I gave it heavy work. I spent 8 hours shredding documents, less than three 45 minutes. interrupted to cool down. A little bit of everything; Cards, paper, thick and thin carbon paper, brochures. I shredded 3 pieces of paper that were used to lubricate and sharpen the blades. I could tell when he needed it because he was getting a bit sluggish. Whenever I've laid down about 10-12 sheets of paper, I let it finish shredding before moving on to the next group…

Powerful little grinder for 1 month

Was great while it lasted, originally 4 stars now 1: Great little grinder for the money, the only thing you often have to check in the cart is when you put it just let go, I'll put it in there and you'll have a hard time getting it out and you'll be in a mess, but it's a powerful little shredder; I've never had an issue with overheating, but I sometimes pause 1/2 to 1 second between serves to let it shut down. Update: Item stopped working today, no light, no overheating, completely dead; Revain

Strange smell when using.

could handle more sheets at once than my old shredder and that it makes a cross cut which is much safer than my old shredder that made long strips. The drawer needs to be emptied frequently as it doesn't hold much and it's hard to know when it's time. If you make a mistake, lots of shredded paper will fall to the bottom of the shredder and onto the floor. This is a problem when you're switching multiple institutions at once and deleting decades-old records because you've ended your relationship

pretty cool shredder for little money

damn strong, ok, not 48 sheets but a dozen at a time, that's pretty handy for most of the waste paper in an envelope; no val pak but they are like a piece of paper in their own right. I like the built in case where the chopper is not just the tip but the whole and then the bucket comes out empty. This is a good size for a desktop that looks more like a PC. quite heavy, but I think it works in his favor. I noticed that he was also quite calm. A good amount of safety features, the blades are…

The tray breaks when you have to pull it out

So one of the worst and dumbest cases of tech recycling. The tray is a slide-out tray, so you don't just have to remove the chopper from the tray. However, if you fill the compartment with too much shredded paper, printing a very full compartment will prevent the shredded paper compartment from being easily pulled out. This means per unit so anyone who bought this is at risk of this happening if they don't carefully empty the tray before it overflows. And no, there is no alarm clock. It becomes

Design flaws limit paper type and lifespan

I bought this shredder to add 'brown' material to my compost. It does an excellent job of shredding 20+ pound paper, heavy junk mail, and paper grocery bags into small pieces that break down quickly in my compost. Unfortunately, it received a 3-star rating due to a design flaw. With almost daily use, the 1st shredder lasted 24 days before dying. I was able to exchange it for a replacement device. After 36 days, the second chopper lags long enough that it cannot be replaced. The problem is…
