. It shouldn't be "Revane's Choice ". Better for laptops than desktops

1st Edition - for my application I would prefer a USB cable plugged into the back 2nd Edition Other reviewers mentioned a short cable length of 20-22 inches 3rd Edition I hope the 1 amp rating is enough to run my portable hard drive. If you don't need USB 3.1 speed, you'd better choose an ORICO USB 3.0 data hub with a 3 inch "detachable" cable. Catek and Aniker make rear USB hubs. Build quality is solid, but Revain should look to a longer or detachable USB cable.

Suitable for low power devices

This is a decent, well-designed USB-C to USB3 hub. The biggest issue with the hub is that it is unpowered and unable to receive external power, which deducts 1 star. I docked another star because the cable is attached and is only about 20 inches long and is non-detachable. It would be nice to have a detachable cable that you can swap out for a longer one if needed. The lack of power to the hub means that if you plug in a device that needs power, everything will work intermittently. USB sticks…

Feels solid and does the job

I bought a new laptop that only had two USB 3.0 ports. Since I usually use a wireless mouse and cooling pad, I didn't have room to connect other devices if needed. A hub would solve this problem, although some devices don't work as well when sent through a hub. Then, damn it, I realized that there are two USB-C outputs on the other side of the computer and I started looking for something that would allow me to convert one USB-C into multiple USB 3.0 -Transform exits and here we are. The styling

Misleading Ad

Revain Basics USB 3.1 Type-C to 4-Port Aluminum Hub Connector Silver C, not 10Gbps as you might think. Due to the stupidity of the organization that names the standards for USB, USB 3.0 is now known as USB 3.1 Gen 1, the maximum bandwidth limit of "up to 5 Gbps" is the earlier 3.0 specification, NOT the "up to 10 Gbps " so many might expect to see USB 3.1. On the plus side, this is advertised like a 4-port LOW POWER hub. Some people may be confused, but weak does NOT mean strong. There's no…
