The Amprobe moisture meter was exactly as advertised. That .

Amprobe Moisture Meter is exactly as advertised. This saved a lot of money I would have spent on a professional moisture check in the walls after our roof leaked. I could see exactly where the drywall got wet so I didn't have to cut and replace what was dry.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Very expensive

simple, rough moisture estimates

Although I haven't used it extensively, the moisture levels I've experimented with seem to match the wood I've tried. This inexpensive moisture meter should be very useful for monitoring the ribbons of wood I'm drying in my wood fired solar oven. In the right stadium, of course.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick

The sensor shows good readings.

I had wood drying and needed to find out if it was dry (humidity is about 8%). I received it and it works fine. I have to hold it steady for the readings to be stable. The two probes are strong and will not bend even under pressure. thought i think it's possible to get the probes to roll over with too much pressure. Anyway, I would like the readings to be faster.

Pros
  • Doping 🔥
Cons
  • There is nothing here

Ammeter Moisture Meter MT-10

I need an inexpensive moisture meter to check baseboards and other spaces in the basement. This one seemed just right. I do electrical work so I have used other amp probes and have been happy with them. This device works perfectly. I can examine areas I suspect have moisture in the wood or drywall to make sure I don't have mold problems and run a dehydrator to fix any problems.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

It looks like it will do the job.

Amprobe MT-10 Moisture Meter I was looking for an inexpensive moisture meter to check the humidity in my subfloor. I could have bought a cheaper unit, but I chose the MT-10 because of Amprobe's reputation for quality testing equipment. I've used it a few times but have no idea if the readings are accurate as I don't have any other meter readings to compare. The readings appear to be very stable, indicating relative accuracy. The MT-10 feels solid and the backlit display is easy to read. On the…

Works but not optimally

Works - detects moisture content in sawn timber. Most air dried woods go down to around 12% MC and this instrument doesn't detect moisture on some of my pieces. They have been air dried for over 2 years so may be below what this gauge can detect. By default, the interface reads the moisture content. Keep clicking on it and it will show you the temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit. I find the UI to be a bit clunky and the counter feels a bit cheap.

Pros
  • Three LEDs provide a quick indication of moisture content, backlight assists in low light conditions, low battery indicator and auto power off
Cons
  • Can't remember but something was

Check humidity.

We recently built a log home. The spot we bought was 200.00 for 5 gallons. and the wood had to be DRY inside and out before application. This little machine allowed my husband to check the moisture content of each log. It will rain and then the sun will come out, but that doesn't guarantee that the wood will be dry. If you are looking to caulk a newly built home I suggest getting this little device to make sure your wood is dry. Good preparation will give you a head start in the long run.

Pros
  • Requires a 9V battery (installed) and conforms to European Directives and relevant Australian Standards.
Cons
  • Obsolete
