Exact replacement for Franke HT-200

I bought a heater to replace a leaking Franke HT-200. Installation was easy as it was essentially a straight fit. I've had no trouble pressing fittings with my copper tubing. All connections are tight, even after the unit had to be removed and reinstalled to fix a leaky faucet. With the thermostat almost fully set, I measure 200 degrees Fahrenheit at the point of use. the device is noisy. I suppose it's true, when the cabinets under the sink are opened I sometimes hear a slight noise, with the…

Easy to change dispensers and water coolers

The bad news first. These items (all brands) have a limited lifespan, maybe 3-7 years. My previous unit (same make and model) lasted about 6 years. And when they "go", it usually seems that they just start to flow from below. I hope you catch it before me before it ruins your closets. After hours of research, it seems that all of these small water heaters are essentially the same when it comes to reliability. Just keep in mind that you will probably need to replace it after 3, 4 or 5 years on…

A good device - no worse than those twice as expensive!

This unit replaced a unit that had lasted ten years and worked perfectly after about a month. As a mechanical engineer, I'm always trying to figure out why something isn't working anymore. When I opened up my previous block, which appears to be identical to the new one, I expected to see a rusted tank or other obvious malfunction, but I didn't. One day I will examine it more closely and leave it for spare parts. I suspect the leak was nothing more than a loose gasket or bad o-ring. To decide…

Makes hot water but has noise/height issues.

This unit replaces the 780W Quick and Hot Waterstone #5000 tank which was great! However, the 1300W power rating of this device is very problematic. In order to get 185-190F water for tea making, the heat control must be set to near maximum, resulting in a sound similar to that of a 747 on takeoff. The noise is like an old dishwasher. I'm 5,000 feet outside of Denver, so the boiling point of water is around 203 degrees Fahrenheit. My guess is that when the 780w unit was redesigned to run at…
