Anchor 3182 Torque Strut Mount Review

I followed Laura Cullen's review of July 5, 2015. I just made a relief cut on the new anchor and used a C-clamp to indent it slightly. This DYI project only took me less than an hour and saved me $600.

Replaced strut bushing on a 2005 Ford Freestyle. Do yourself a favor and freeze it for 24 hours before attempting the install. I'm wearing it, but I hope I never have to do something like this without abs again. I saved a hundred dollars by buying the entire strut assembly and lowering the motor for the install. But with a hammer and 2x4 it took a lot of work to get the bushing in place.

I purchased this part to replace a roller drag bearing (engine mount) in the drivetrain that had rotted on my 2005 Ford Freestyle FWD. First I had to cut out the old metal edge (this part took about an hour). I then used the same hacksaw to cut twice through the metal at the top of the new anchor piece so the piece of metal went straight into the bracket.

5 stars for this product because it is exactly as advertised and OE quality. to a local small auto or mechanics shop (or if you have a press and the right size sleeves/collar you can make them yourself). You should be able to press out the old one and press in the new one in less than 5 minutes after assembling all their tools/sleeves/sleeves.
