I bought these specifically for hanging pans. The heaviest pan weighs 7 pounds. There's no way these hooks can hold 50 pounds. Even my 7 pound pot cannot hold. Regardless of the type of surface, the hook and tray simply slide off. I can certainly use them in the scissor sewing realm, but they definitely won't hold up to 50 pounds. I could get more hooks for the dollars I spent on hooks to get the job done.

I needed to make some space in the kitchen and the side of the fridge was the only free space I could use. These magnetic hooks have a great design. I've found that a sticky "pad" you can use (to avoid scratching the surface I guess?) reduces the strength of the magnet, so I've decided not to use it. The magnets can be removed with little effort when you want to remove them, and the magnets don't scratch my fridge when I want to rearrange them.
