1000 points for Error

Voltage fluctuates from 100% to 60% and back at very low load (30W). This is the third Apex/Allied power supply we're trying to use in this new DM-387 case. The original shipment that was in the case had the same issue as the replacement purchased from Newegg. So that's three. The computer I'm powering uses only 25 watts (measured). With overhead, the total power of the Seasonic 300 is 29W (including CPU, memory, m.2 SSD - no graphics) and it's absolutely stable. I'm assuming these Apex/Allied…

The first one had a melted wire when it arrived

The first one had a melted wire when it arrived so I couldn't install it. The second one I ordered started out with the same fan noise as the original, so the bearings in it just aren't right. I've only heard once that I haven't played around with it yet. I have a spare ready. Another problem is that they never make the wires long enough on the connectors. The original PS that was in the car was probably listed by MFR as the longer 4 pin jumper cable as they knew they had to run it through the…

Good replacement: Computer Components

Works great, up and running in minutes. It helps a lot to leave the old burnt power wires connected to the PC until a replacement arrives, and then just trace the wires one by one and replace the old device with the new one. Also, make sure to unplug your thin PC during this hardware transition. My order comes with a new black 3 pin power cord which I used to power my new box, thanks.

Easy computer repair!

I don't have much experience repairing computer equipment, so I was afraid to buy a new one when my computer stopped working. But after a little research I found that the power supply was the most likely cause. It was a really simple fix. It took me about 15 minutes to get the old one out and replace it in my HP Pavilion. This saved me a lot of money!
