Wow, big speed improvement!

This module kit increased my 10 year old MacBook from 2GB to 4GB. My computer was getting slower and slower. I've gone through cleaning and performance procedures like deleting unused files, changing settings, etc. that really helped, but upgrading the RAM made the biggest difference by far. It's like a new computer for $16 and 15 minutes of work. Instructions can be found under About This Mac under Storage and all I needed was a small screwdriver. Removing old chips and installing new chips…

Pros
  • 4GB
Cons
  • Long Lead Time

You can do it.

Just take your time and you can do it (no need to pay a professional). Lay a white towel on the floor and turn your MacBook upside down. Hand towel. You will need a small Phillips screwdriver. First, loosen the tiny screws on the back of your MacBook (don't worry about losing a screw. The white cloth will make your tiny screws visible if one of them falls out. After loosening all the screws, you can find one or two long screws (unscrew them but leave them in the bottom cover as it will help…

Dramatic Improvement!

Best $13 I've ever spent on a computer. My late 2008 Unibody MacBook Pro was almost sent to the closet due to its age. It was too slow to do anything useful and I thought it was game over. After reading some reviews on Revain that the RAM upgrade made a big impact on others in a similar situation, I decided to give it a try. There was a question about going with 4GB or 8GB (the latter seems to be supported by the firmware update I have on my MBP) but since my computer is 8 years old I decided…

Pros
  • Upgrade to 4GB Compatible with Apple iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro and Mac mini systems
Cons
  • Some little things

Fantastic price to upgrade your Apple laptop for less

With In anticipation of OSX Mavericks releasing a week later, I decided to upgrade my late 2008 aluminum Macbook from the factory 2GB to 4GB to speed up the computer. Now RAM is required to open multiple applications (Documents, PDFs, Internet, PowerPoint) simultaneously on your laptop without lag. In my opinion, these days 4GB of RAM is the bare minimum to run software smoothly. The 2x2GB kit was packaged in a sealed aluminum pouch and as advertised - 2 x 2GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM (seller was…
