Unsatisfied. the best sonars and fish finders

Availability Numerous problems and it's only been two weeks. I didn't connect to my computer to transfer files, now it's stuck on a blank white screen and won't record. Not satisfied with this product.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Update

Poor Underwater Camera with Water View

If you're looking for a company that endorses their products, look elsewhere. Aqua View customer service is VERY poor and long term quality is impeccable. The screen went white and they refused to even look at the camera, let alone refund the money. Used the camera once and no longer works.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Not Sure

Camera doesn't last long

For the money this camera should last for several years. My camera lost its seal after just a year. It worked pretty well and I was happy with it, although the image quality could have been a bit better. The replacement camera costs $100 plus shipping. I have a feeling they could make the seal more bulletproof so it lasts longer. I think I'd go with Marcum now that I know if the Aqua Vu isn't under warranty you're out of luck.

Pros
  • Very good price

Why set the mount point at the top?

Who places the attachment point above the screen? 10 times harder to find a decent way to mount it. I'm literally trying to assemble something to attach to my Vexilar so both screens are close together. I could just turn it upside down and then use the camera. upside down for a decent picture, but then the lid/sunshade doesn't do its job. The screen is fine and the picture is fine out of the box, I haven't had time to submerge it in water yet.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Modernity

Don't waste money!

Don't give money away! This camera was a big disappointment for a number of reasons. FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you don't use it in clear gin water (aquarium water) you will have ZERO visibility. The lake I used it on had good visibility, I could see 4-6 feet deep with a blue sky of birds and couldn't see more than 2 feet off the camera. SECOND problem - the magnetic charging connector is useless! The magnet is VERY weak to keep the cable secure while charging unless you prop the cable…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons

After the recommended 24 hour initial charge I tested the unit in my kitchen and was very impressed. Two weeks later on our next ice fishing trip it gave a clear picture and I was still very happy with the unit. After checking three different holes ten minutes apart. Then, in the fourth place, I lowered the camera into the water and turned it on. After the initialization screen, the screen turned white. only shows temperature, battery icon and direction. no picture at all. Aqua-Vu didn't answer

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Some issues

Due to a long disappointment this was my fifth camera but my first Aqua-Vu. As a research fish biologist, I needed a camera with features that could capture video at 2500 ppm total dissolved solids (drinking water is 400 ppm or less). Thus, visibility is less than a foot. I had no problem shooting fish videos despite the visibility conditions. I wanted a camera that would start recording as soon as I pressed the record button. Here's what I have. Transfer to a laptop is built-in, fast, clean…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Severe limitations for fish finders and fish finders

This device may be for you if you have 1) a heated shelter, 2) a means of controlling/eliminating ambient light, and 3) a way to reduce it project onto a wall screen. This thing is frustratingly useless for recon, as you jump into an outdoor hole with no way of stopping the lithium-ion battery from being sucked out, and there's no way you can see the screen without your face 2 inches away Device removed to bury you are not in it. You can focus your eyes so close and you fog the glass with your…
