Good filter cartridge

Good cartridges that fit directly into the hanging aquarium filter. I put it in my filter after treating the aquarium and the discolored water cleared within a few hours.

Pure water at Fish & Aquatic Pets

this thing is amazing I have a 20 gallon Aqua Clear filter and I just put a bag of this thing in it and wow. It took a day or two to settle down but my water is crystal clear. Remember to lift the bag before putting it in the filter.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes

Recommended product

The product is easy to install. I put 3 coals in my tank and the water was clear and clean in two days. It saved me a lot of time constantly changing the water. What I have to do is only add water when it gets below the water level.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Security

Doesn't make water transparent

It takes a long time to wash off black particles from soot. I poured cold water over the bag for over 15 minutes before the water ran clear. From the ad I thought coal was in slabs not bags. I put the bag in the filter housing, but I could not tell any difference in the aquarium water. It doesn't clear the water. I will not buy again.

  • Very good price

Product Great Carbon

This product works as described. I change mine every 30 days because they're cheap enough not to force them. Clarifies water overnight and is noticeable during use. Remember to rinse out the charcoal before putting it in the filter, otherwise your water will be full of charcoal dust. Also, be sure to remove the charcoal if you are taking medication. I will continue to buy and use this product.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Great Items: Fish and Aquatic Animals

After reading many reviews I switched from Aquaeon to AquaClear. smell, and I've always struggled with algae. I read that it was because the filter material was not suitable and quickly clogged. I threw away the Aquaeon and installed the AquaClear filter along with activated carbon. Results like day and night. The water looks completely clear and odorless. I will definitely keep buying them.

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons

conveniently at hand.

This is a great filter and we use these charcoal inserts when needed. We have found that for our small tank (10 gallons fresh water/one tap) the bioinserts work on their own most of the time. But charcoal is particularly good for cleaning the water after using medication in the aquarium. Charcoal has also been found to be excellent at controlling that "fishy" smell. :) Although we don't use these inserts all the time, this product comes in very handy for occasional use. Highly recommended!
