Lasted 4 months with aquarium lights

Like: Price Dislike: It really isn't enough to light a 30 gallon aquarium so some of the reviews surprise me. I would prefer 2 of these for this size. Also, one day the end cap accidentally came off, only saw it was lying on the bottom of the tank and found that the tube was full of water and part of the light strip was dead. Then after a week or two everything died. Waste of money even if you think it's a good price as now I have to buy another lamp.

Numerous failures on aquarium lights

Having bought a few of these I can say that failure over time is almost inevitable. I failed five of them and all for the same reason. The plug that connects the transformer to the lamp's power cord failed in all cases. Many times the connection was visibly weakened as the light went through a period of flickering before completely disconnecting. If there was a way to re-tighten the connector the light could be fixed, but there doesn't seem to be a way.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Do not recommend this product. This is not an "underwater crystal glass lamp". Bought in mid-May, failed at the end of June, see photos. Bought to replace existing LED lights for a 20 gallon aquarium. When first purchased the light was bright and the suction cup held the light securely on the aquarium lid. The light has not been submerged in water, it just failed, only the first three LEDs work as you can see in the picture. RE: You only turn it on when it's submerged. The heating wire should…

Bright and inexpensive

The built in ballast couldn't handle the light in one of my 55 gallon aquarium hoods. A replacement hood cost about $50, which seemed ridiculous. I found this LED bulb at Revain for less than $15. It took 10 minutes to unscrew and remove the old interior light housing from the hood, install this LED light (using the screws from the old housing and 2 zip ties that were on the new light's wires) and threading the wire through the hole in the Back of hood where I removed old cord. Put the cap back
