not enough light to use alone in deeper tanks.

As others have said it's not very bright but my plants love it and with a few accent LED strips my aquarium will be lit up beautifully. It might be fine for a 20 gallon tank, but my Deep 29 is horribly weak on that bulb alone.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • The list will be long.

I agree with most of the reviewers although the i.

I agree with most reviewers, although the bulb I replaced with this one was also a 17 watt bulb, this bulb wasn't even half as bright. It barely lit the corner of the room. Buy a Power-Glo 20W for a few dollars more.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Works well but weak

Yes, it works better than a two year old lightbulb. The light is very dim, my aquarium looked much darker than before. Some of my plants liked it and started growing again, albeit very slowly. Some plants remain the same. I bought a 20W to replace this, it's much brighter now.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • There are defects

Makes my plants lush green

Great product. After having one in my 10 gallon tank I had to get one for my 20 gallon tank. When you switch from full spectrum light to this light, you will definitely find that the reds and blues in your aquarium become more vibrant. Not sure if it's just me but after switching to this light my plants look great and are a brilliant lush green colour.

Not everything is bad, but not everything is good either.

All inclusive. Despite the name being Floramax, it did not stimulate or induce plant growth during the time I installed the lamp. The light gave my tank amazing brightness and really brought out the different colors of my fish, but I wasn't thrilled with the growth of the plants. I ended up taking it and buying a new light (Coralite 10,000K) to which my plants respond a little better. I don't regret my purchase, I lost a lot more money on worse things, but I'm just not very impressed with what…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
