This is a very strong magnet, strong enough to hold heavy power tools as long as they have enough metal to make contact. However, the 13-inch version is just too short to be very useful unless you want to hold multiple tools. Another issue is that the screw holes are spaced about a foot apart, meaning only one screw can access the stud. Summary: They are definitely made for the workshop as the fit and finish are average to poor. Good for holding heavy tools like hammers. Observations: The first thing I noticed was sloppy weld spatter everywhere. There were several sharp spots, the edges of the incisions were not cleaned, most were sharp.
