Reduced by about 5-10 degrees compared to stock fan

This is a pretty solid fan that reduced the core temperature of my Intel i7 chip (socket 1200) by about 5-10 degrees. The fan has two advantages over most other tube fans. First, it attaches to a mounting bracket that attaches to the motherboard with push pins. This eliminates the need to remove the M-board and install the rear bracket. However, attaching the fan clips to the bracket tabs is a bit tricky. It took about 5 minutes of fumbling before I could find a secure mount. Second, the fan is

Perfect Fit XPS8940 i7-10700 Cooling Update!

I just bought a new XPS8940 with a 10th gen i7-10700 processor. The stock fan is terrible, to say the least. When rendering videos for social networks and at 100% CPU usage, the temperature sometimes reached 100°C+, so I started looking for a better cooler. Came across this one in the reviews here and the price is perfect with Revain Prime. Arrival came quickly and was handed to me right at the front door. In short, plug and play. It's really beautiful and so well built! I've had other big…

I REALLY got it working with an LGA 1200 socket!

I read the previous review with a bit of trepidation as I also recently bought an LGA 1200 board (ASRock H510M-HDV/M.2) and this fan. Sorry I don't have any pictures but this is how I did it: First I installed two pin mechanisms on the motherboard (in my case it was the bottom two) including the brown mounting pins and the black locking pins. Luckily, the black holster (which the fan will eventually attach to) flexes a bit, and I CAREFULLY tightened it a bit to match the holes individually. On…

10/10 if not overclocked.

I cannot recommend this heatsink enough if you are not interested in overclocking. It keeps my stock i7 9700k unoverclocked at a cool 75 degrees under load and only jumps to the low 80s when it's turbo. Installation was easy. The only issue I had was not being able to see the side clips when my suitcase got in the way. But they were still easy to put together, so it worked. In terms of noise levels, it's very quiet at lower fan speeds, but when things get sharp and the fan kicks in, you can…

Much better than Wraith Stealth - Terrible instructions, rattling problem

I have a mini-ITX system so heat is only part of the story. I've recently noticed that my Ryzen is around 55-60C when idling and hitting close to 100C in AIDA64 and Blender renders. After installing Freezer 7X, I noticed that my idle temps got a little better (50-55°C), but now I never go above 80°C in AIDA64 or Blender renderings. I didn't even touch my fan curve or anything. It's also incredibly quiet, even during stress tests. I also noticed that the heatsink doesn't cover the entire CPU…

From the LGA 1200 socket

This cooler's mounting "pad" extends outside of the LGA 1200 socket area. This meant I couldn't use it for my motherboard (mini-ITX) as the plastic tabs (required for assembly) were not inside the socket and conflicted with the M2 slot cover on one side and another permanent IC cover (not sure what's underneath) on the other side. Couldn't change anything to make it work. I don't recommend if you have a mini-ITX mobile device or if you have something close to an outlet. You'll need a nice extra

Nice heatsink, right?

I bought this heatsink to replace the stock Intel i7-4790 fan. I'll list my pros and cons: Pros: I bought this small heatsink because it fits perfectly in my case and is very compatible with my MOBO (LGA1150). Other than that, I use this computer to stream on Twitch and edit videos to upload to YouTube. With the standard fan, my computer went from 30 to 65 degrees, and now it runs from 24 to 48 degrees. I also used Artic Paste for this setup. CONS: This heatsink required some tweaking and some…
