Fantastic purchase! Great Seller

I ordered this modem because it supports emta and I just upgraded to Comcast Triple Play. After reading some reviews and comments about used modems and Comcast activation issues, I was skeptical at first. However, with the promise and trust of Revain, I went further. First of all I take my hat off to the seller. Fast sending. I received my order within 3 days. The seller provided detailed instructions on the preparatory steps to take before calling Comcast, as well as the steps to activate the…

I love this awesome wireless gateway!

This wireless gateway modem/router works great. Easy setup, easy registration with Comcast, and a strong signal. The service is also excellent. Setting up a network name and password should be easier than the factory manual. You plug it into your TV cable and computer, then activate it through Comcast, which is very convenient. Then use the name: Admin/Password: Login password is 192.168.0.1 and name the device directly (ARRIS TG862G-CT Wireless Gateway Gateway 802.11b/g/n GigaPort x 4 Port…

Just link it online, don't call Comcast customer service

I've spent days connecting my modem to Comcast. Every time I called support they said they couldn't connect because the number on the modem was erased or erased. I don't remember the exact wording. I finally got to my computer and hooked it up like this. For some reason I figured I couldn't connect it to the online instructions because I didn't have internet without my old modem plugged in. HA! For anyone who thinks the same way, you can still plug in your modem if you already have Comcast…

Comcast doesn't want you to have this

Comcast really doesn't want you to buy and use your own modem. It will likely take a few calls as not all tech support staff know what they are talking about or how to get both the data and voice portions of this device to work properly. This device is also a router which I don't use because my Netlink router works much better. When you plug this in, it broadcasts a public Wi-Fi network (as well as a private one) for any other Xfinity client to use. I didn't like the idea of someone coming to…

Get rid of the Comcast subscription fee, but call the right number!

Great modem, get rid of the 10.00 monthly fee Comcast. Comcast doesn't want you to plug it in either. I bought this modem to get rid of the $10 monthly fee for Comcast. First I called 800-266-2278 and went to IT, gave the guy all the information. said he couldn't get it to work and told me i had to drive to comcast and they would do it for me. I also went to Comcast and waited to be seen. Finally it was my turn. Long story short, the woman said the box was stolen because it was called "Xfinty"…

I have nothing good to say about the purchase

I have nothing good to say about the purchase. Ordered as a new device. When I got it I wanted to install it for the client and the wifi/router worked fine but the phone functions didn't work. After speaking to Comcast, they ran some tests and said there was nothing they could do about it until they spoke to the registered owner. It looks like the modem was previously owned and still registered with that owner. As soon as they contacted us, they reported that they also had problems with the…

Buy this and save hundreds of dollars!

Works just like the Comcast model they charge $10 a month for. This fits in a phone and works well. Payback and save you money in less than two years, depending on your costs. Before I knew I could buy my own cable modem, eight years of leasing from Comcast meant I paid $960 for the last one and still didn't own it! Never again. Get your own modem and don't let the cable company take advantage of your ignorance (as I haven't found out yet).

  • Pleasant to use

Great product and seller

My Arris TG862G-CT arrived 1 day before the estimated delivery date. Due to many old negative reviews on this product and difficulty activating via Xfinity/Comcast. I was wary. The product that arrived was actually a "next-generation" version of the router/modem that Comcast rents to customers. A note explaining the difference and photos of the two products were included in the delivery. The activation instructions (included in the box) were very clear and concise. Following the instructions…
