It never worked properly.

I bought this router in 2012 because I needed to replace a ten year old Microsoft branded 802.11g box that was hopelessly outdated and I wanted to add a 5GHz network to alleviate congestion issues in to reduce my area. At first I was impressed by the breadth of options and customization options, but it soon turned out that the network part of the 5GHz router was completely unstable. The English used on the setup and administration pages was also ridiculously bad. But the 2.4GHz part has alwaysโ€ฆ

Very happy (mostly) with a pair of these

Coming from a few old Buffalo hotspots that I've had for a few years. They were generally good routers, but required regular reboots, and several generations of Motorola Android phones have always had connectivity issues. So I wanted to upgrade to an "n" router and see if the new technology works better with my phone. Answer: Yes, it works. They were easy to set up and, unlike my Buffalo devices, very easy to set up two devices in tandem - one connected to a cable modem and the other in hotspot

To run. Run far far away

After many months of use I am withdrawing my 3 star rating that allowed these devices and downgrading them to 1 star. I've had several of these devices and agree with the reviewers who are frustrated with the crashing and constant resets. I returned and replaced them, so it's definitely something to do with blocks and/or firmware. I was using the latest February 2014 firmware and the one before. Both devices kept failing throughout the day, completely by accident. Some say it's due toโ€ฆ

better because

I really don't know why. My tech friends helped me choose, and the cable internet installer said it was the best option, so for all that very valuable tech info you need, go elsewhere. These 3 people know their stuff and say this is the router that gives you the best bang for your buck. Let me tell you why I like him: 1) He's really handsome - no, I'm not kidding. The lights are all blue, gloss and black with a nice etched finish. It's not an ugly box on my shelf. 2) It works great. We canโ€ฆ

An overheated router!

This router gave me the biggest headache. I bought it only to find that the router was either defective or just poorly designed. The router worked for several hours, but then stopped working. The Wi-Fi signal stopped working and no other connection could be made. However, if I plug an ethernet cable directly into the back of the modem, I still have an internet connection. So that meant the router was problematic. As a result, I would have to constantly reboot the router every few hours. Theโ€ฆ

This router really disappointed me.

I've been involved with technology for a long time. I love new gadgets and I like testing new products. I was a Linksys guy for a while and my last router was a Netgear. Overall, I was happy with Netgear, but I wanted something that could open up my network a little more. I've read a lot about ASUS routers and despite the mixed reviews for the RT-N53, I still wanted to give it a try. PROS -- Relatively easy setup Fast performance Great design CONS -- The web interface is terrible (even after aโ€ฆ

great on 2.6 channel good on 5.2

After a long line of increasingly expensive wireless routers, along with additional antennas and a whole host of annoyances, this Wi-Fi router is a lot better at half the price I got pay replacement every 10 months. I almost bought a more expensive version of this Asus router that included a print server, but my wireless printer is a bit dated and I wasn't sure if the printer would be compatible with it or not. I skipped it because Asus was a new brand of routers for me. I can go back and inโ€ฆ
