Doesn't work with Canon EOS R

Just wanted it to work with Canon EOS R. For some reason it exports every 24fps at 60fps at 1080. Only 4K saves at the correct framerate. Really frustrating. There is no answer in support service as to why this is happening. My ninja is now collecting dust.

    Best Monitor for Independent Filmmaking

Let me tell you, the Atomos Ninja V is one of my best investments in filmmaking. This monitor is amazing, easy to use, accurate colors. In addition, it records Pro Res and Pro Res RAW. Now I can record high quality, high bitrate videos. He turned my EOS R into a small C200.

VOLUME fans are good for camera and photos

The monitor itself is amazing. It's bright, the touch interface is amazing, it's lighter than I expected, and the recording feature is great. The only downside is that the fans are noisy. If you use them in a quiet room, that's all you'll hear, and probably all the sound engineer will hear. The rest of the product is excellent.

    Pros
    • Sturdy construction
    Cons
    • There are problems

Great monitor! for camera and photography

I love my Ninja V, not only is it very bright but it has features I love like the artificial color. Battery life is good and for the most part I have no real complaints. It can be a bit noisy compared to other monitors, but that's understandable because it's also recording. I wish it had SDI built in, but that would cost even more. I think the only feature I would like to see someday is an internal battery AND an external battery. So if you want to go ultra light you can do that for a few hours

    It doesn't display properly LOG

I wasn't aware of this when I bought the Ninja, but it seems to be common on other devices as well. I used it with XT3 but this problem exists with Sony A73. as well as with GH5. This has to do with the HDMI range. The footage is recorded correctly, it just needs to return to normal data levels in your NLE, but the screen doesn't show LOG properly, which can cause exposure issues etc etc. Also, it's good technology, but it so completely defeats the purpose of the second monitor. I contacted…

If you want to get the BEST file from your camera. But that!

When you need an external monitor and a way to record very long periods of time. This is your registrar. (When it costs $499!) Cons: 1. Bright, but not bright enough during the day without a sunshade.2. Comes with sun visor and for the price it should have been at least black cardboard! There is no way to delete footage from the device itself. Must use computer! 4. With the Sony NP970 battery there is not much time left. Only 2.5 hours. understandable, but that means it's a record limit.5. Does

Good product but missing key advertised feature

This is my current 1 star rating until the issue is resolved. This is great gear and I'll let the other reviews do the talking on what's good. I'm here to point out a key feature missing, although all previous pre-release models showed this element with AtomHDR. Even on the product's website itself, you can see it listing a feature below. Also, once you get this device and go to the product support page, you will be prompted to download an HDR manual which deals with AtomHDR. All the mockups…

The best thing I've ever used, I recommend it to everyone!

For a year and a half of operation only positive impressions. I use it for responsible shooting with a Canon XF405 camera, when it is better to have 10 bits. Sometimes I use it to capture HDMI video from a computer to a projector. It is very useful when you need to record trainings online. The lecturer's voice is recorded separately from a microphone or remote control. Here you regret that there is no way to write to an economical codec like H.264-H.265, to save space and not to convert later…

    Pros
    • A wonderful, reliable, professional device you can rely on. 1. Small size and weight 2. Ease of use. 3. Excellent bright screen. 4. Writing to the editing codec. 5. Support RAW video. 6. SONY batteries.
    Cons
    • 1. Disgusting 3rd party hard drive installation system. Native wheels indecently expensive. 2. No H.264-H.265 codec 3. There is no interface for resetting information, only through a SATA-USB adapter, purchased separately.

No time code from HDMI is synchronized with an external recorder!

I gave 2 stars because Ninja V is not really professional equipment. I bought this recorder/monitor to record interviews with my Sony A7rIII. The Ninja V's display looks great, it's bright, it's scoped, it records well, but I'll be returning it. Contrary to the stated characteristics, it does not offer time code transmission through the HDMI output port. This means I don't have timecode on my external Sound Devices recorder and have to manually sync the interview. Come on Atomos, what's that…

A kind of expensive device that lacks some essential things.

Ninja V build quality is very good. The functionality meets most people's expectations. However, as it doesn't come with a sufficient HDMI cable to connect to the device. At least a compatible HDMI cable that is at least a foot and a half long and supports 4K 60p 10-bit. You know the giant mayor uses it for the cameras. If a mini HDMI is required, they may include a second cable or adapter. It feels wrong and it's annoying. The suggestion that the $30-$60 cable also needs to be purchased…

    Amazing product! VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE!

First of all, this is an amazing product! I do NOT regret investing in Ninja V, it put my Sony A7iii on steroids. Not only that, my workflow has gotten a lot better. I usually shoot gorilla style so if you know it's very important to be fully focused and know what's going on while you run and shoot. I haven't even used all the features yet, but I'm really looking forward to it! So now a VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE. I learned this the hard way so hopefully it will help others not to make the same…
