I ordered this set of salt and pepper shakers as there was nothing comparable in the local stores. The crystal looks and feels high quality which is what I feared when I ordered the photo. The top covers are plastic and clearly identifiable as plastic. Well if they were stainless steel it would be ideal. Still 5 stars for the price.

Very pretty but the shaker lid is cheap plastic. The holes are too small for my Himalayan salt and ground pepper. I even used a coffee grinder to make the salt and pepper finer. Salt and pepper hardly come out. I even tried enlarging the holes with a needle. I keep them because they are so beautiful. I only wish the top was pewter, metal or sterling. Plastic is not suitable for crystal shakers

I have to say I wish I had read the reviews a little more carefully. This item had great reviews, but I had no idea salt/pepper lids would be made out of incredibly cheap plastic. I took them out to prepare for a socially distanced dinner - didn't even realize there were NO HOLES in the lids for salt and pepper to get out of them! INDEED? I would ask for my money back but I doubt that will happen as I have already refilled it and recycled the box it came in. A very disappointed customer indeed.
