Works well, quiet, compact and well designed

I wanted this to charge a battery for a portable/cordless rechargeable battery tire inflator that I can carry around in the car and not depend on the corded inflation tool that comes in a cigarette lighter socket is plugged in. It had plenty of "juice" to work with, and its small fan is pretty quiet. I connect the charger to the inverter that goes into the cigarette lighter socket, then I connect the battery to the charger. It charges quickly and when it's fully charged I just pop the batteryโ€ฆ

Great product, it's really not that loud.

So I bought it at the end of November and now it's February and so far I'm loving it. I only use it to turn on the Christmas lights in the car and charge my phone. USB ports are slow. They just won't charge your phone very efficiently. I read all the reviews before buying and was a bit skeptical but bought it anyway. For all of you who say fan noise is loud, you're a bunch of over-the-top drama queens. It's at the same noticeable level as your air conditioner, even on the lowest settings. Ifโ€ฆ

Not recommended

After doing a little research I finally settled on the BESTEK 150W inverter with 3.1A dual USB charging ports (MRI1511U) after my previous inverter, the FOVAL 150 car inverter W. DC 12V to AC 110V with dual USB 3.1A car charger finally out of order. Not because it was a bad item, but because I was somewhat irresponsible with it and occasionally spilled my drink into the unit through the item holder it's hanging from. BESTEK seemed good because unlike Foval, there was no dangling cord to plug it

Had to check before leaving

Bought this for a trip and had to try it out fully before leaving. I rented a large van and used it twice to sleep in a 10 day trip. I also bought an air mattress that I thought could be inflated with this cork. It was extremely difficult to get into the socket, the lightbulb did not light up at first. I flipped it over hoping it would work and it caught fire briefly but didn't catch fire. I tried 3 times and once my light came on but as soon as I plugged in the air mattress pump it didn'tโ€ฆ

Purchased for use with a Car DC Battery Jump Starter. I wanted to store the launcher in our little truck but there wasn't enough space for it so I now keep it in a breathable nylon carrying case for around the house for emergencies as our battery has a built in flashlight. and a DC outlet. With this handy inverter, I can now connect it to the DC jack on the starter battery, and then connect low-drain AC appliances to it when the power goes out; such as cell phones or a portable DVD player orโ€ฆ

Wired version is better

I bought this 150w inverter and its wired brother also 150w mainly for car use, passengers who need to charge devices/entertainment etc. But it's also useful for emergency cell phone charging via USB and emergency fluorescent (CFL) lighting from a 110 volt outlet when connected to my portable jump starter with a 12V DC outlet. In the event of a brief power outage at home, I can quickly turn on at least one room-filling lamp (60W equivalent) when the power goes out and buy myself time toโ€ฆ
