Description of Blackwing One Step Long Point Sharpener

ONE-STEP, LONG-POINT SHARPENER: This one-step sharpener creates a long, curved point that resists breakage and won't leave a mess behind, as the canister can hold shavings from 3 sharpening jobs. It's great for professional sketch pencils, colored pencils for adult coloring, or general art pencils. DURABLE, ALL-METAL DESIGN: Featuring a German steel blade and machined aluminum sharpening unit, this sharpener is incredibly heavy duty. There are no plastic components included, unlike low-quality competitors. COMPACT: The compact design makes this useful easy-crank pencil sharpener conveniently portable. It can easily fit in your palm, pants pocket, purse, art kit, or pencil container. It's perfect for personal, professional, or even educational use. WE GIVE BACK: A portion of the sales from all Blackwing products benefits the Blackwing Foundation, which funds and develops arts and music education at the K–12 level. Your purchase helps provide the instruction, learning environment, and instruments children need. BLACKWING HERITAGE: First created in the 1930s, Blackwing built a cult following that included John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones. Discontinued in the '90s, Blackwing was revived in 2010 for a new generation of writers, musicians, and others seeking a more natural existence.

Possible defects

Usually Blackwing products are excellent. This POS will not sharpen a pencil to save his life. I'm going to throw it across the room because this is my only sharpening at the moment. Click three rounds. Click four rounds. It worked the first time I used it and the blade is so tight I can't take it apart to see if it's just a blade. I need a solution for this as I have contacted the seller 2x = nada. The other style is nice but this one is MORE DURABLE as I'm tired of the plastic peeling off the

Looks good but unfortunately doesn't do the job

I was willing to stop paying for plastic sharpeners. I currently have at least 6 that are broken. I saw this BLACKWING and at least WOW! Now it looks solid! At first I thought I had a bad pencil, sometimes I use good quality colored pencils and I know if I drop them the lead will break and the lead will fall out when sharpened. However, I can't sharpen an old regular pencil with it :( that's the thing! 99% of the time the lead breaks. One pencil I was able to sharpen was 1/4 the size it was…

Mediocre at best. Overpriced because of the brand

I saw someone on youtube saying this sharpener was all the rave for crayons and ok. continuous. But it is inconvenient to use it often because emptying it can be an ordeal. Attempting to hold chips through a small hole in the bottom creates a dusty mess. And if your lead breaks in it, it's an annoying pain to unscrew everything just to get the lead out of the razor hole. Finally, I guess you're paying for the brand. I don't think it's worth the price and generates more hype than anything else…
