Borla XR-1 40944 Sportsman Racing Oval Muffler, 3-inch, Stainless Steel Review

Great muffler for my Silverado. I don't like squeaky dampers. The xr1 has a deep and powerful sound when you play around with it. There is no drone on the route. This is exactly what I wanted!

God that thing is a beast, put it on my Trailblazer 07 SS 6.0 and it put back some back pressure I had previously with my old setup has zero rumble at highway speeds. Quiet at idle and damn loud when I hit the ground.

Muffler sounds great, no hum. Used this muffler in a custom exhaust for a Nissan Titan. Even exiting the front rear wheel (maybe 20 inches or less pipe past the muffler) there is no resonance in the cabin

My Nissan Titan used to have a Black Widow 300. It was pretty loud and a bit raspy although it sounded pretty vicious. After switching to 40944 I felt the low end torque returned slightly. The Borla sound is significantly quieter and more refined, but still sounds rough on cutless titles.

Installed on a '06 Ford F150 with a 5.4 liter engine. The sound outside is soft but noticeable and very aggressive under hard acceleration. It's easily audible inside and doesn't hum. A good sound is deep and rich. The build quality is of course fantastic - Borla quality is always very high.

The shop welded this to my 2020 Nissan Titan. The sound is incredible! It booms when you sit on it, but stops when you move and not under heavy loads. There is no drone at all. Definitely recommended for titanium. The only downside is that this isn't an easy bolt-on installation, so best take it to a shop if you don't know how to work with an exhaust system.

After buying a used muffler in stock here. The seams didn't look right. So I returned it and bought a new one. The welds didn't look clean. I have contacted Borla about this. PERFECT! This muffler was the miracle I needed to quiet my exhaust. Don't get me wrong though as I came from the opposite end of the spectrum (the exhaust is way too LOUD. Not like most who would tune this for a deeper/throat sound). Installed on a 1998 A4 1.8T with a Big Turbo setup.
