Perfect until they are

These blades are made of tungsten carbide, very hard but brittle. It holds its edge very well until it breaks. When it breaks, it doesn't ring, tarnish, or bend, but rather breaks into multiple pieces, leaving jagged grooves in the wood.

Perfect fit for DEWALT DCP580B

Thought this might help someone else looking for Carbide Blades for Dewalt DCP580B. They are identical in shape and size to the original carbide blade that came with the planer. As for durability, I don't know yet. One of my original blades broke at a knot when I first used the plane. Hope these last longer. If not I will switch to HSS blades.

Sharp and durable

I use this to plan maple logs into various shapes to keep them flat. I've also used it on cedar. I've removed a lot of wood and I'm still on my first blade which still seems to cut like new. If I had to guess, I would estimate that it will last at least 10 or 20 hours with regular use. Can't rate this exactly as it shows no signs of wear, but it's a good buy.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Updates Available

These blades get the job done perfectly on my Bosch planer. Possibly because I ordered a level from Bosch which helped me adjust these blades to their full potential. The level gave better results than the Bosch factory. Before that, I've been cutting on the side since purchasing the tool. I think BOSCH should include them with every plane they buy. After all, they are just a piece of plastic and can help customers get the most out of their slicer.

Pros
  • Power tool parts and accessories
Cons
  • not reliable

Woodrazor blades are easy to use.

We restored and lived in a traditional Seattle craft bungalow and had the hard work of planing badly weathered 105 year old rocker panels that were flush with the sheathing in preparation for gluing and screwing in new cedar. a sill bar on each of the original double windows. We managed to use up the OEM Woodrazor blades that have been in the plane since it came from the factory and we managed to scrape some metal here and there. The original blades looked pretty rough, but still cut remarkably
