It's quite expensive but worth the money in Compared to crap I bought earlier. I am very happy with it as it penetrates deep into the gravel and gets the job done quickly. It's like comparing sweeping carpets to vacuuming. The best part is I don't have to lug around a couple of buckets of dirty water to pour out - just pull out the filter and throw it away. This is not recommended for use with fine gravel. So if you have fine gravel in your tank I don't think it will help you.

The thing is a joke and TOTALLY a waste of money. I think I waited too long because there is no way to return it. I have black ornamental sand in an aquarium with a striped raphael catfish. I think that thing choked in the sand. When first used it stopped working after a few seconds. That makes no sense. Useless. Garbage. This thing sucks, but in a good way. I removed the gravel cleaning sponge. Seems to get clogged easily. After I removed it, the suction power increased. Food and trash are still in the bag, so it's okay. I like the long handle that makes it easier to access the bottom of my large 125 gallon. Tank. I think this product is better than what I was using which is a hand pump siphon but I need to adjust it. At first I couldn't connect the flexible hose to the outlet. I had to use large aquarium hoses which luckily fit. Second, none of the attachments work well for vacuuming the shallow, rocky bottom of my turtle tank, which has a gravel filter.
