BROOKS TRACE: Road Run

Trail is a comfortable running shoe. Lots of room for toes. It really makes your step springier and makes running and walking a comfortable experience.

Pros
  • Easy Install

Good shoes, good fit.

Well made and very comfortable shoes. I'm D wide but on the broad side. The sock is wide enough and sits well on the foot. I use them for running, they are very comfortable and not stiff. My feet don't hurt like other running shoes even after long walks.

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Flaws in product design

I've worn Brooks and several versions of Glycerine for years. However, this particular shoe has a solid chunk on top of the heel cup. One day when I put them on there are huge blisters on both heels that will prevent me from wearing tennis shoes for a few days. I returned this pair and bought 18s instead.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Poor performance

Great running shoes.

Designed for long-distance runs. Light, very comfortable and beautiful. My first pair lasted almost a year and a half, running five miles a week on gravel roads in good weather, drizzle and snow until the sides started to loosen and there were still enough lugs on the sole. I always have two pairs, so I have another one ready when the first one reaches its end. I always buy Brooks.

Cute but WAY TOO BIG!

I think these shoes would be great if they fit. I have several pairs of Brooks (e.g. 8 pairs) Adrenaline, Launch and Revel. I always wear size 8. Simple. I don't know if it was an accident or what but these shoes came in a size 8 and when I put them on they were like a 9 or 9 1/2 - too long to even walk in them. Luckily the return process was easy and straight forward, but I won't be buying Brooks Trace again until I can try them on in person to see what size they are.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Good fit but bad delivery.

Tried different styles of Brooks sneakers in store. Beast was recommended to me but had too much bow. Trace felt better. I ordered Trace through Revain. The discovered shoes cost the same, no matter where you buy them. I was at Revain for a delivery. There was an error. Shipping sent these shoes anywhere but to me. Tracking showed them to be local to Colorado and then sent back to Kentucky. 6.dsys arrived later (although tracking showed them in Kentucky). Liked sneakers but didn't wear them…

Pros
  • Great overall specs
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about, it's ok

Update: Bad Shoes: Running

What do you get when you buy Ghosts on Wish. shoe is ok Looks nice. Worthy of everyday shoes. Bad for all sports. The tongue is compressed, causing chafing on the top of the foot. The shoes are too soft for my needs. Sometimes you get pushed to the left or right while walking. I have ugly calluses on the heels of my left foot. Ghost is a much better shoe. go with it Edit: These things really hurt my feet after having them for a while. I have pain in my big toes and pain in the top of my feet…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Clarity

An excellent compromise between price and knee and joint protection.

I started running about three years ago. When I started, I landed badly on my left knee and tore my meniscus. Since then I've been running with Brooks most of the time. I had three signal pairs, a signal2 pair and now trace. Mixed pair of Nike Revolution and Asics. The only time my knee hurt was when I wasn't wearing Brooks. Now I usually run a few miles five days a week, usually on pavement. After five runs and 25.6 miles my pair of Trace is holding up well. The cushion holds but collapses…

Fatiguing, feels heavy for midfoot landings

Thanks to good reviews I bought a good choice and even won an Editors' Choice Award from Runners World. I have had good experiences with Brooks shoes in the past. I play midfoot and where my previous pair of Brooks had a smaller midfoot drop, this shoe has a 12mm drop. While this may be normal for those who walk in heels, these shoes cause tremendous leg fatigue, at least for me. I can comfortably run 10 miles in the Saucony Kinvara 12, as well as many other shoes including other pairs from…
