Cheaper than color but still too expensive

After I bought a Brother printer and realized how quickly you have to change ink cartridges, I started saving them instead of throwing them away. After a while, I found that new cartridges were "empty" at an inconsistent rate. I then bought a black ink refill kit to refill my old ones with, but found out the old ones were 1/3-2/3 full! So I took all the black ink out of the old one and was able to pour another old one without touching the new ink. I've been doing this for almost six months now.

REST IN PEACE! You must sue.

We Brother printer users have to file a class action lawsuit against Brother ink manufacturers. This is a terrible divorce. The boxes say the cartridge has a "yield of 300 pages". On which planet? I was lucky enough to get 30 pages and that's about two square inches of text and the rest is white space. Also, all CYM cartridges stay as dry as the black ones, even when I use the "Black Only" setting on the printer. When an ink cartridge is empty I can't even use the scanner because the stupid…

They sent me empty cartridges!

Cartridges were sealed in Brother's official plastic packaging and in Brother's official boxes. When I opened the first one I noticed the orange seal was missing but I assumed it was in the plastic bag and installed the cartridge. The printer did not recognize it. I accidentally put the old one back in, but no, they sent me THREE unfilled black cartridges in a perfectly sealed box. I will request a refund.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Minor issues

Excellent print quality, cartridge does not run out quickly. I had previously tried a cheap generic x brand replacement and the cartridge was terrible. Diluted, diluted; blotchy, faded printouts, and it kind of evaporated, leaving an empty cartridge after almost no printing. Buy a Brother product. Like toothbrushes, a good brand costs extra money over time.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Defective

not worth the money

bought because my printer got stuck and the magenta cartridge ran out due to a paper jam. installed and had to clean the printer 4 times then the new cartridge was empty. The new cartridge has only survived 4 cleanings. As a result, I immediately bought 3 xl color cartridges. definitely not, but again. the seller was ok. there are no problems. The product itself is very disappointing.

Cons

prone to clogging and will not be used again

I liked the ease of finding the cartridge. However, I did not like that the cartridge was dirty shortly after installation and I could no longer print in black. I've cleaned the heads but to no avail. I'm not sure I would buy the original again as the price is probably not worth it.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Expensive

Don't overpay on printers and supplies

This is your Brother branded ink - this cartridge ran out after 100 pages. Brother claims that if you use other brands of ink, your machine will fail. As I print quite a bit it's too expensive to use Brother brand - thought I'd use genuine Brother ink from time to time (I also run a cleaning setup every few weeks). I actually ordered this cartridge when my printer showed the (non-brother) blue ink had gone down to 1/4 and lasted another 3 weeks with that ink (that was 400-500 pages at 1/4)…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Empty

Works perfectly. Easy to download and use

Works great. Easy to download and use. But two words: planned obsolescence. The printer is cleaned after each print job (eat ink). Not so bad after work. This prevents clogging of the print head. However, late at night I noticed that the printer was cleaning its printheads even when not in use and turned off but still connected to the network! The company burns your ink in the name of good printing, even when the machine isn't being used. TISK, TISK, TISK brother. However, I'm sure you're not…

Pros
  • Something about it
Cons
  • No
