Very small threads good for me

I had a hard time with these. I even added some extra glue around it because they make me a bit uncomfortable to use. I'm not sure how well these will work out, but I hope they last a while. I bought these to setup an enclosed box for my holiday lights. I don't recommend these. Get something with longer threads. They do seem to do well for the waterproofing but the threads make me a little nervous about how well they will hold up.

Pros
  • threads are a little shorter than i would like, but they work for me
Cons
  • May not provide enough protection against cable twisting or bending

Just what I'd been looking for!

I'd seen these in restaurants and other places but never knew what to call them. Once I found these though I couldn't be happier. The perfect clean and classy way to finish an exposed cloth wire hanging light. I'm going to be needing a lot more of these in the future!

Pros
  • I bought 2 different brands this was the easy to use
Cons
  • May be difficult to remove or replace once installed

Great part to create waterproof electrical box!

Wish I had found these earlier.here's the situation: I was putting together an outdoor landscaping lighting system. Each light in the system has a 24inch lead that needs to be joined to a wire from the transformer, using wire nuts. No problem, but I needed to ensure that the wires passing into the box didn't allow water -- from sprinklers or the weather -- to enter. Initially I tried to use rubber grommets, but getting them to fit into a hole I drilled into a box became a problem. Then I became…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in high vibration environments

Perfect for fiberglass of stainless enclosures

I use these glands when I install Hach FL1500 flow loggers. These glands will perfectly occommodate sampler cables, power cables, and even bubbler tubing. No special pliers needed to tighten. These are so much easier than the old plastic/metal/rubber glands that I have used in the past.

Pros
  • Which I could buy them in 100 lot bulk but still a good value at 20 piece price.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use with high frequency cables

Limited use item. good for me

I had bad results.First the mounting thread is real short. Don't plan on mounting to anything thicker than .09 and .06 is best. Then the mounting threads are all different sizes. Nothing is a standard port size. Then the mounting thread/nut has too much thread clearance and the plastic is not strong. Try to tighten the mounting nut much and it skips back a thread. Tight is not possible. Each size increment shows a lowest to highest size cable/wire. Cannot utilize the highest sizes shown. Again…

Pros
  • nice to have an assortment available rather than have to run into town for individual pieces.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with high salinity

Not deep enough to thread on a plastic electric box

I bought this thinking I would use these with a nema 4 outdoor plastic electrical box, but there isn't enough threads on the cable gland to catch the nut. I found myself struggling pushing in really hard squeezing the rubber washer down just to catch one thread. When any of the cable glands are gentle bumped the nut pops off because its only on one thread. The only thing I think this would work on is a typical metal electrical box which has really thin walls. The side that seals around the wire

Pros
  • Use these a lot. Provide water proof wire connection system.
Cons
  • May be prone to slipping or becoming loose over time
