Product not durable

I bought this 6.6 foot cable. I only used my cables to charge devices. When my thunderbolt cable stopped working today, I checked my order history to see when I bought these cables because I knew I had bought several of this particular brand of cable. The first cable was purchased in September 2019. It says I received another cable in December 2019 and two more cables in January. I only bought cables when my previous cables stopped working. I didn't even know I had tried so many cables but now…

Great value (as always) From Cable Matters

As always, Cable Matters delivers another quality cable product. I came across this brand about a year ago and have found that each of the cables I have purchased from them are of the highest quality. Better than OEM in many cases. A NOTICE. This cable only offers speeds up to 20Gbps. If you need a TB3 cable that long that delivers full 40Gb/s bandwidth and 100W of power, choose the more expensive model found here: https://smile.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Thunderbolt - Supporting-Compatible…

Good long TB3 cable

I was very excited when I finally found a USB-C TB cable that was over 3ft long. I wanted to secure the cables well on my desk and place my laptop next to the monitor so that the laptop doesn't have to be moved when opening or closing the lid. I was thrilled when I plugged in this 6ft cable and the video appeared on my monitor. Previous cables that claimed to be able to play 4k video did not. Unfortunately, after a minute or two with this setup, my Dell Latitude 7490 started complaining that…

Works great for 4K at 60Hz

I just bought this to get 4K output at 60Hz and it does a great job. The cable says 100W (but that's not what I bought it for, but I mention it because many other users are concerned about it). The cable that comes with the Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 is too short for my needs and I wanted longer. After a lot of research I settled on this cable and it works great delivering stable 4K resolution at 60Hz. Highly recommended!

Ok as long as it lasted

Same problem reported by some other buyers, after a few months of use it starts to disconnect and reconnect and things get worse over time. I actually made a small bracket to attach it to the laptop tray I use, but even then it keeps disconnecting due to minor things like typing or pressing the touchpad. The problem seems to be that it doesn't snap very well and/or isn't very reliable so the connection becomes less and less reliable after a month or two of use. Updated June 2020: Within 1 day…

Stop charging in 45 days

Update: Cable Matters sent me a replacement cable free of charge. Although it works, I hope I won't come back in another 45 days to update it :) I use it as the main charger for my laptop that supports USB-C charging. It worked for the first 45 days or so, but now it won't charge my laptop or power bank. I have confirmed this is the cable by using other cables in the same configuration and verifying that they work. Maybe it's because I travel with him, but I'm not strict with him at all. I…

Tech not quite perfect

Cable Matters is generally a quality brand so I don't want to criticize them too much. This cable is not well constructed. In particular, it doesn't snap securely into the slot on my LaCie external hard drive or laptop. Somewhere the plugs on the cable are a bit short. Maybe it's the rubber coating around the plugs or maybe the length of the teeth on the plugs, I don't know, but something is wrong. When using a cable, I constantly made sure the connectors were fully inserted into the devices…

Works like an Oculus Link cable

I bought this cable to use with Oculus Link and it works great. Although this cable is more expensive than the Anker 10-foot USB-A to USB-C cable that Oculus affiliates with on their website, I wanted a higher-quality CC cable that is somewhat future-proof. This cable is TECHNICALLY capable of transferring 20Gb/s as advertised, but you'll most likely get 5Gb/s if you just run it from a standard USB-C port on a PC to a device (in my case Oculus Quest) use. To get the full 20 Gbps, you need a…

Cost of active cables but unfortunately not my use case. Tried using this in a daisy chain setup where no device could be shown correctly after the first. Apple Thunderbolt Display, OWC TB3 Dock or Akitio Thunderquad external SSD/HD array could not be detected when connected to the first device. The return to a short 40Gbps passive cable or a longer active cable allowed for up to 6 levels of daisy chaining as promised. So I'd be wary of buying one of these to make sure you don't need a device…
