💻 Cable Matters Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter (Mini DP to DP) - Black, 4K & Thunderbolt 2 Compatible Review

Product works as described. I'm using this with my Macbook Pro Retina 15" with 750M discrete graphics card (Late 2013) and 4K monitor. I'm tired of going behind my monitor to switch cables between my desktop and my Macbook Pro. With this good one adapter I can easily use the same cable for my monitor. I have been using the product for two weeks and have had no problems.

I got this for a reason. I have a Valve Index and my laptop had a Mini so I couldn't connect my Index. With this thing it was solved without problems. I plugged in the Index, connected to 3.0 and was able to use VR on my Asus Chimera 1070. Has worked flawlessly. I think other reviewers got it for the same reason and some may have had issues. Not me. This can be random and laptop and/or machine related.

When using with a specific combination of Asus Gl502vsk laptop and Asus Pg27uq monitor I get no video signal on the monitor. In the middle if I use a DP to HDMI adapter it works fine but then I run into various HDMI limitations or if I use another mini DP to DP cable it works fine but when i use this adapter with this laptop and monitor i dont get video on this monitor but i do on others. Some weird compatibility issues in this particular scenario work fine.

I don't know if my video output is TB2 or Mini-DP 1.4, but this cable is labeled "TB2 and Mini-DP to Displayport" and works when I connect my Valve Index VR headset. to my HP Omen 17T laptop from CUK. It (my laptop) heats up under load but gives me the ability to travel using my virtual reality skills.
