Good quality product, works as it should

Perfect for keeping my old VGA monitor alive. I can use it with my new graphics card that doesn't have its own VGA output. It's no problem that Windows 10 will find it and automatically select the right resolution. Some of the cheaper ones I looked at didn't have lock nuts to hold the VGA end to it - this one does.

Pros
  • Everything ok!
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Worked great in our Dell Optiplex 790 for adding a second monitor!

Worked great in our Dell Optiplex 790 to add an additional monitor via the onboard DisplayPort connector. The only issue I noticed is that the refresh rate is off a bit as it's a bit noticeable when you look at it. Also, it works exactly the way we want it to!*** UPDATE 06/18/2015 *** Just wanted to let you know that after installing it, it's still working fine for almost a year. So the quality is there! :)

It worked great!

I recently upgraded my computer's graphics card to an RX 480 and missed a tiny detail. The RX 480 does not have a DVI connection for a VGA adapter. (I'm fine with my 17" Compaq monitor, but it might be time to upgrade since it only has a VGA input). So I decided to buy a DP adapter or an HDMI to VGA adapter. I had problems with the graphics card and HDMI, so I went for this adapter. It doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. I connected it normally and it worked beautifully. No loss of image quality or…

Perfect for connecting CHROMEBOX to an old VGA monitor!

I recently bought my brother with special needs an ACER CHROMEBOX so he can surf the internet fast and be virus and malware free (Chromebook and Chromebox are not prone to virus and malware and do not require anti-virus or anti-malware software)! I wanted to give him a 5 year old ViewSonic 720p monitor which only has a VGA input but the Chromebox only outputs HDMI and "DisplayPort". For some reason the HDMI to VGA converter/cable I gave him didn't work properly so out of frustration I bought…

Better than OEM laptop

After having my new HP with DisplayPort out for about 4 months, my adapter finally gave me a hard time. I had problems connecting to external monitors and projectors on a daily basis. I gave up and bought this. Everything I connected connected instantly with no prior effort to view an external device. It's hard to see how there could be such problems with something that's basically just a cable, but somehow HP managed to mess it up. This is a great replacement. Be careful when ordering as it…

Dell T1500 and Quadro NVS 295 Usage Issue

Just in case this helps someone, I've been trying to use the Cable Matters adapter with a Dell Precision T1500 graphics card and an Nvidia Quadro NVS 295 (with two DP connections). I made sure that this adapter does not display video until the operating system boots up (in this case Windows 8.1). the main display, which allows you to view the splash screen/POST results/initial prompts, and retained Cable Matters adapters for machines that will have a secondary display. They appear to be well…

Pros
  • Rugged Design
Cons
  • Fits

Works as expected, you have to plug it in and it recognizes and works in seconds, none Need for drivers etc. The graphics card recognized the screen immediately. The picture on Amazon is not up to date, the product is the same brand and very similar, but the design looks newer and better (rounder shapes) if that matters. The only annoying thing is that the connector is a bit big and I can't plug two of them into adjacent connectors on my Geforce GTX 960 because they are too close together. This

Problem with Dell T1500 and Quadro NVS 295

Just in case it helps someone, I've been trying to use the Cable Matters adapter with a Dell Precision T1500 graphics card and an Nvidia Quadro NVS 295 (has two DP connections) to use. confirms that this adapter will not display video until the operating system (in this case Windows 8.1) is loaded - perhaps due to a temporary issue with the text/splash screen refresh rate and resolution? I ended up using the Dell RN699 adapter as the primary display, which allows me to view the splash…

Does the job for cables and accessories

It came from across the ocean in record time. Not only that, it was well packaged. They used bubble wrap, and inside was the key in a mylar (!) bag, protected from electrostatic discharge and hermetically sealed. There was a small paper sleeve on the Pro side to draw attention to the computer's cable connector latch. (What a great idea.) The metal finishes are all gold plated as they say, but even if it's 1 micron it's still gold plated, not aluminum. Considering that there are eight hundred…

Unstable adapter. a cable and accessories

I tried these two adapters and DP-VGA adapter cables from the same company. I have a laptop dock with two DPs and one output and monitors with VGA inputs. Some (more expensive) adapters from Office Depot worked fine, but I tried these. and found that every time I turned on the screens or switched them to the VGA input, I would experience noise, squiggly lines, and other instabilities severe enough to render the monitor virtually unusable. Since I frequently switch inputs, this also rendered the
