I liked this novel, like all John Grisham stories, because his characters have such a heart. I feel like now that I know Paul Tracy, I know what it's like to love baseball and want your parents to be your hero and your admiration to be always turned off. Thanks to Grisham's story, I feel like I can now watch baseball and know enough to enjoy it, so I read. Calico Joe, written by John Grisham, is a novel about two major league baseball players, their families and fans. Much of this is told by Paul Tracy, the son of Warren Tracy, a journeyman pitcher who retired from the New York Mets in 1973 when Paul was eleven.
